Melina Matsoukas is an American music video, film, commercial and television director. She is a two-time Grammy Award winner and four-time MTV Video Music Awards winner for her "We Found Love" and "Formation" music videos. She was honored with the Franklin J. Schaffner Alumni Medal by the American Film Institute in 2019. Her directorial debut in film was Queen & Slim, starring Jodie Turner-Smith and Daniel Kaluuya, and written by Lena Waithe. She then worked as executive producer and director for television series Insecure, being nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2020.
The UK Music Video Awards is an annual celebration of creativity, technical excellence and innovation in music video and moving image for music. The awards began in 2008. Disclosure is an English electronic music duo consisting of brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence. They grew up in Reigate, Surrey. Their debut studio album, Settle, released on 3 June 2013, by PMR Records, was nominated for Best Dance/Electronica Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards. They released a second studio album, Caracal, on 25 September 2015 which was also nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 2016 Grammy Awards. Wolf Alice are an English rock band from London, England. Formed in 2010 as an acoustic duo comprising singer Ellie Rowsell and guitarist Joff Oddie, Wolf Alice have also featured bassist Theo Ellis and drummer Joel Amey since 2012.
Run the Jewels, also known by the initials RTJ, is an American hip hop super-duo composed of Brooklyn-based rapper and producer El-P and Atlanta-based rapper Killer Mike. They released their critically acclaimed self-titled debut studio album as a free download in 2013 and have since released the follow-up albums Run the Jewels 2 (2014), Run the Jewels 3 (2016), and RTJ4 (2020), all of which have been released for free and received critical acclaim.

The nominations were announced on 12 October 2011. American indie rock band Manchester Orchestra won Video of the Year for "Simple Math" directed by Daniels.

English director Julien Temple received the Icon Award.
The 2015 UK Music Video Awards were held on 5 November 2015 at the Roundhouse in London and was hosted by Adam Buxton to recognise the best in music videos and music film making from United Kingdom and worldwide. The nominations were announced on 30 September 2015. American rapper Kendrick Lamar won Video of the Year for "Alright", directed by Colin Tilley and The Little Homies. British director David Mallet received the Icon Award.
The 2021 UK Music Video Awards were held on 4 November 2021, at the Roundhouse in London to recognise the best in music videos and music film making from United Kingdom and worldwide, unlike last year's ceremony, the ceremony for this year is expected to be live.
The 2022 UK Music Video Awards were held on 27 October 2022, at Magazine London in London and hosted by Spencer Jones, to recognise the best in music videos and music film making from United Kingdom and worldwide. This marks the first change in venue for the awards since the 2015 edition, from 2015 to 2021, the awards ceremony was held at the Roundhouse in London, with the exception of the virtual ceremony in 2020.
