The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I whose members are located in the Northeastern United States.
Edward A. LeLacheur Park is a baseball park located on the banks of the Merrimack River in Lowell, Massachusetts. It is home to the UMass Lowell River Hawks baseball team, which competes in the America East Conference at the NCAA Division I level. It was home to the Lowell Spinners, previously the New York–Penn League Class A Short Season affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.

UMass Lowell, which would join the conference following the season and was a tenant of the park, served as the host of the tournament. Second-seeded Binghamton defeated first-seeded Maine in the championship game, which was played at Rhode Island's Bill Beck Field due to scheduling issues.

The 2018 America East men's soccer tournament was the 30th edition of the tournament. The tournament decided the America East Conference champion and guaranteed representative into the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. The tournament began on November 3 and concluded on November 11.
The 2019–20 Hartford Hawks men's basketball team represented the University of Hartford in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Chase Arena at Reich Family Pavilion in West Hartford, Connecticut and were led by tenth-year head coach John Gallagher. They finished the season 18–15, 9–7 in America East play to finish in third place. They defeated UMass Lowell and Stony Brook to advance to the championship game of the America East tournament vs Vermont. However, the championship game, and all postseason tournaments, were cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2021–22 Stony Brook Seawolves men's basketball team represented Stony Brook University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Island Federal Credit Union Arena in Stony Brook, New York and were led by third-year head coach Geno Ford. They competed as members of the America East Conference.
