The Binghamton Bearcats baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Binghamton University in Vestal, New York, United States. [2] The team is a member of the America East Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The team plays its home games at Varsity Field in Vestal, New York. The Bearcats are coached by Tim Sinicki.

The Northeast Conference (NEC) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools are members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Teams in the NEC compete in Division I for all sports; football competes in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Participating schools are located principally in the Northeastern United States, from which the conference derives its name.

The field is home to the Binghamton Bearcats baseball team of the NCAA Division I America East Conference. The field holds a capacity of 1,000 spectators. In 2010, the field hosted the America East Conference baseball tournament.
The Binghamton University basketball scandal refers to a series of incidents that occurred as Binghamton University compromised its integrity in order to make the Bearcats men's basketball program more competitive in Division I. Numerous Binghamton players were arrested and dismissed from the team in the fall of 2009, continuing a troubling trend of misconduct from basketball players at the university. The arrests led to an investigation by the State University of New York (SUNY), Binghamton's parent institution, which found that Binghamton's administration had significantly lowered its admissions standards for prospective recruits under pressure from men's head coach Kevin Broadus and his staff. It also detailed several potential NCAA violations by Broadus and his staff. Numerous Binghamton professors admitted to academic fraud, having changed grades for basketball players upon pressure from members of the athletic department.

It has played home games at Fiondella Field since the venue opened at the start of the 2006 season.
The West Virginia Mountaineers baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball program of West Virginia University, located in Morgantown, West Virginia, United States. The program has been a member of the NCAA Division I Big 12 Conference since the start of the 2013 season. The program currently plays at Monongalia County Ballpark in the adjacent city of Granville. Steve Sabins has been the team's head coach since prior to the 2025 season. As of the end of the 2024 season, the program has appeared in 15 NCAA tournaments. It has won five conference tournament championships and 16 regular season conference and division titles.

Timothy Sinicki is an American college baseball coach, who has been the head coach of the Binghamton Bearcats since the start of the 1993 season. Under Sinicki, Binghamton has appeared in two NCAA Division I Baseball Championships.
John A. Affleck is an American former college sports coach. He coached baseball, men's basketball, and men's golf at Binghamton University, in addition to serving as an instructor and administrator. Under him, Binghamton's men's golf program qualified for nine NCAA Tournaments, including one in Division I. He is the only professor of physical education in the State University of New York (SUNY) system to have received the Chancellor's Award for Teaching.
The 2014 America East Conference baseball tournament was held from May 21 through 23. The top four regular season finishers of the league's six teams met in the double-elimination tournament held at Edward A. LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Massachusetts, the home park of UMass Lowell. Binghamton won their third tournament championship, and second consecutive, to claim the America East Conference's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.
Steve Trimper is an American college baseball coach who is currently the head coach for the Stetson Hatters baseball team out of the ASUN Conference. Previously, he served as the head coach at Maine from 2006 to 2016 and Manhattan from 1999 to 2005. An alumnus of Eastern Connecticut State University, Trimper played baseball there from 1990 to 1992 and was a member of the Warriors' 1990 Division III national championship team.

The team currently competes in the America East Conference and plays its home games at the Binghamton University Events Center. The Bearcats have not made an appearance in the Division I tournament since joining it in 2001, but they did make appearances in the Division III Tournament from 1995 to 1998 and Division II in 1999.
The 2018–19 Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team represented Binghamton University in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Binghamton University Events Center in Vestal, New York and were led by 7th-year head coach Tommy Dempsey. They finished the season 10–23 overall, 5–11 in conference play to finish in seventh place. As the 7th seed in the 2019 America East men's basketball tournament, they upset 2nd seeded Stony Brook in the quarterfinals 78–72, then lost to top-seeded Vermont 51–84 in the semifinals.
