Execution of the Romanov family 1918 shooting of Nicholas II of Russia and his family

The Russian Imperial Romanov family were shot and bayoneted to death by Bolshevik revolutionaries under Yakov Yurovsky on the orders of the Ural Regional Soviet in Yekaterinburg on the night of 16–17 July 1918. Also murdered that night were retainers who had accompanied them, notably Eugene Botkin, Anna Demidova, Alexei Trupp, and Ivan Kharitonov. The bodies were taken to the Koptyaki forest, where they were stripped, buried, and mutilated with grenades to prevent identification.

Angelika Igorevna Timanina is a retired Russian competitor in synchronized swimming. Captain of the National Olympic team and a member of the city club of Moscow, she was an eight times winner of the World Championships, seven times winner of the European Championships. She won a gold medal in the women's team competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and announced her retirement in 1 July 2017 and working for Russian Football Union.
