2015 Tour of Iran (Azerbaijan) was the 30th edition of the Tour of Iran (Azerbaijan) which took place over six stages, between 28 May and 2 June 2015 in Iranian Azerbaijan. [1] The race was won by Iranian rider Samad Pourseyedi.

It is located 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) west of Khomarlu in East Azerbaijan Province, Iran and 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) southwest of Soltanlı in Jabrayil District, Azerbaijan. Armenian de facto protectorate Republic of Artsakh occupied the area in 1993, during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War, but on 18 October 2020, the Azerbaijani forces retook control of the dam during 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. It is located 1 km (0.62 mi) upstream of the Khudafarin Bridges.

The Simineh River, also known as the Tatavi Chay, is a river in northern Iran, arising in the Zagros Mountains of Kurdistan Province north of Saqqez, that flows into the south end of Lake Urmia. It is just over 200 kilometres (124 mi) long and has a catchment basin (watershed) of 2,090 square kilometres (810 sq mi). Its waters are used primarily for agriculture and the return flow significantly degrades its water quality.

Tour of Iran (Azerbaijan) 2019 is a UCI 2.1 Asian Tour and the 34th edition of Tour of Iran (Azerbaijan). It was held in five stages in October 2019 in Iranian Azerbaijan. The race started in the city of Tabriz and went through Urmia, Jolfa, and Sarein ending at the Sahand Ski Resort.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">1641 Tabriz earthquake</span> Earthquake centered in northwestern Iran

The 1641 Tabriz earthquake occurred on the night of February 5 in present-day East Azerbaijan province, Iran. The earthquake had an estimated surface-wave magnitude of 6.8 and an epicenter between Lake Urmia and the city of Tabriz. It was one of the most destructive earthquakes in the region, resulting in the loss of up to 30,000 lives.
