Television in Turkey

Television in Turkey was introduced in 1964 by the government media provider TRT. The first Turkish television channel, ITU TV, was launched in 1952. First national television is TRT 1. Color television was introduced in 1981. Back then it was the only channel with the name of TRT 1, and it broadcast in several times of the dateline. Turkey's first private television channel Star started it broadcast on 26 May 1989.

O Ses Türkiye is a Turkish reality singing competition and local version of The Voice. It started on 10 October 2011. O Ses Türkiye is presented by Acun Ilıcalı.

<i>Big Brother Türkiye</i> television series

Big Brother Türkiye is the Turkish version of the international Big Brother reality television series. It is the debut season of the show and started broadcasting on 28 November 2015 on Star TV with Asuman Krause hosting the main shows. This season the grand prize is ₺1,000,000.

Süper Lig top tier of association football in Turkey

The Süper Lig is a Turkish professional league for association football clubs. It is the top-flight of the Turkish football league system and is run by the Turkish Football Federation. Eighteen clubs compete annually, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promoted and relegated from, and to, the 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 34 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday.

Turkish Super Cup


The Turkish Super Cup, as it is currently known, is the annual super cup football match contested between the previous season's Süper Lig champions and the Turkish Cup winners in Turkey. It was originally known as the Cumhurbaşkanlığı Kupası from 1966 to 1998. No competition was held between 1999 and 2005, although there was a substitute competition played under the name of Atatürk Cup in 2000. The rebranded TFF Süper Kupa is a curtain raiser for the upcoming footballing season, usually taking place in August.

On 10 March 2016, she was announced as the Azerbaijani act for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Miracle". Rahimli performed during Semi Final 1 and successfully progressed to the Grand Final where she placed 17th with 117 points.
