The 2016 Denver Stampede season was the first and only season in the club's history. Coached by Sean O'Leary and captained by Pedrie Wannenburg, Denver competed in the United States' 2016 PRO Rugby competition which they won.

Ospreys (rugby union)

The Ospreys, formerly the Neath-Swansea Ospreys is one of the four professional rugby union teams from Wales. They compete in the Pro14 and the European Rugby Champions Cup. The team formed as a result of Neath RFC and Swansea RFC combining to create a new merged entity, as part of the new regional structure of Welsh rugby, that began in 2003. They are also affiliated with a number of local semi-professional and amateur clubs, including Welsh Premier Division sides Aberavon RFC, Bridgend Ravens, and original founding clubs Neath and Swansea. The regional area represented by the team has widely become known for rugby purposes as 'Ospreylia'.

Kees Lensing Rugby player

Gideon "Kees" Lensing is a former Namibian rugby union player and current head coach of the Seattle Seawolves of Major League Rugby. He played as a prop for six different teams over more than 11 years. Lensing played for the Namibia national rugby union team in the 2003 Rugby World Cup and the 2007 Rugby World Cup. He was Captain of the Namibia National Team from 2006 to 2009, and ultimately played 24 matches for Namibia.

Sean McDermott American football coach

Sean Michael McDermott is an American football coach who is the head coach for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He began his NFL coaching career as an assistant for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2001, serving as defensive coordinator from 2009 to 2010, and was also the defensive coordinator of the Carolina Panthers from 2011 to 2016. Following his six seasons with the Panthers, which included a Super Bowl appearance in Super Bowl 50, he was hired as the Bills' head coach in 2017.

Texas Legends American professional basketball team of the NBA G League

The Texas Legends are an NBA G League team based in Frisco, Texas, and the minor league affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. The franchise began as the Colorado 14ers in 2006, before relocating to Frisco in 2009 and becoming the Texas Legends for the 2010–11 season. The Legends play their home games at the Comerica Center.

Shane Patrick O'Leary is an Irish-born professional rugby union player, who represents Canada at international level. He primarily plays at fly-half, but has also played as a centre. O'Leary currently plays for Pro D2 side Rouen, having previously played for Nottingham, Ealing Trailfinders, Irish provincial side Connacht and Grenoble in France.

PRO Rugby

The Professional Rugby Organization, known as PRO Rugby, was an American professional rugby union competition. PRO began play in April 2016 with five teams and ceased operations by January 2017. The competition was sanctioned by USA Rugby and by World Rugby. This was the first professional rugby competition in North America.

Sean O'Leary is a rugby union coach, and was the head coach of PRO Rugby team Denver Stampede in its only season in 2016.

The 2016 PRO Rugby season was the inaugural and only season of the PRO Rugby, contested by teams from the United States. The season ran from April to July 2016. This was the first season of professional rugby union in North America.

The Denver Stampede were an American rugby union team that played in the short lived PRO Rugby competition. The Stampede was one of the five teams that began play in PRO Rugby's 2016 inaugural season. The team played its home matches at the University of Denver's CIBER Field. The team was led by head coach Sean O'Leary and captain Pedrie Wannenburg.

The 2016 Ohio Aviators season was the first in the club's history. Coached by Paule Barford and captained by Jamie Mackintosh, Ohio competed in the United States 2016 PRO Rugby competition.

Colorado Raptors

Colorado Raptors Rugby was a professional rugby union team based in Glendale, Colorado, an enclave of Denver. The team was a founding member of Major League Rugby, but after competing in the first three seasons announced its withdrawal from the league following the shortened 2020 competition.

Rugby United New York, known as RUNY, is a professional rugby union team based in New York City that is a member of Major League Rugby (MLR). The team played an exhibition season in spring 2018 and joined MLR for its second full season in 2019. The team was founded by James Kennedy.

Dylan Fawsitt is an Irish-born American rugby union player who plays as a hooker for Rugby United New York (RUNY) in Major League Rugby and also for the United States men's national team. His nickname is "The Butcher".

Brendan Thomas Daly is an American rugby union player who currently plays as a lock for the Colorado Raptors in Major League Rugby (MLR). He also represents America on the United States men's national team, and the USA Selects.

The 2019–20 season will see Glasgow Warriors compete in the competitions: the Guinness Pro14 and the European Champions Cup. Due to the coronavirus pandemic the season was postponed in May 2020. It continued with a very restricted season finale in August 2020.

San Diego State Aztecs rugby

Founded in 1958, the San Diego State Aztecs rugby club is the rugby club of San Diego State University in San Diego, California. It fields both men's and women's teams, the men compete in Division 1-A in the California conference and the women play in the Pacific Desert conference of Division II. The Aztec men's team won the US National Collegiate Rugby Championship in 1987.
