The 2016 season was Liam Kearns's first year as manager of the senior Tipperary county football team.
Tipperary recorded their first victory over Cork in the Munster Senior Football Championship since 1944 and reached the All-Ireland semi-finals for the first time since 1935.
In November 2015, Liam Kearns had been named as the new manager of the senior Tipperary county football team. [1] [2] [3]
Intersport/Elverys continued as sponsors of Tipperary GAA for the second year. The Tipperary jersey for the 2016 season was the same as was used in 2015 and displayed the Intersport brand name on the front and their co-sponsor Elvery’s name on the back. [4]
On 3 November 2016, Michael Quinlivan won Tipperary's first All-Star award since 2003, being picked in the full-forward position. Evan Comerford, Robbie Kiely, Peter Acheson, and Conor Sweeney were also nominated. Josh Keane and Jimmy Feehan were also nominated for the GAA/GPA Young Footballer of the Year award. [5] [6] Quinlivan became just the second Tipperary footballer to claim an All Star, joining Declan Browne who won the awards in 1998 and 2003. [7]

In June 2016, Tipperary reached the Munster final after a 3-15 to 2-16 win against Cork. They lost the Munster final to Kerry by 3-17 to 2-10 in a game which was shown live on RTÉ One.

Tipperary went on to defeat Derry by 1-21 to 2-17 in round 4A of the qualifiers to reach the All Ireland Quarter-finals for the first time. [9] On 31 July 2016, Tipperary defeated Galway by 3-13 to 1-10 in the 2016 All-Ireland Quarter-finals at Croke Park as they reached their first All-Ireland semi-final since 1935. On 21 August 2016, Tipperary were beaten in the semi-final by Mayo on a 2-13 to 0-14 scoreline. In the first half of the match Robbie Kiely received a black card after ten minutes for pulling on the jersey of Jason Doherty which the referee David Coldrick deemed as a cynical foul. Former players including Jim McGuinness and Peter Canavan have said that the black card was a wrong decision by the referee. The Derry game was shown live on Sky Sports with the Galway game shown live on RTÉ One. The Mayo game was shown live on RTÉ One and Sky Sports. [21] [22] [23] [24] [25] [26]

Liam Kearns was an Irish Gaelic football manager and player. He managed Offaly from 2022 until his death in 2023.
The 2011 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 123rd staging of the All-Ireland championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The draw for the 2011 fixtures took place on 7 October 2010. The championship began on 14 May and ended on 4 September 2011. Tipperary were the defending champions.
The 2012 season was Declan Ryan's second year in charge of the Tipperary team, the second year of his initial two-year term since succeeding Liam Sheedy. In January the management appointed Paul Curran of Mullinahone as new captain and Pádraic Maher of Thurles Sarsfields as vice captain for 2012 season. On 6 February 2012, forward Lar Corbett announced his withdrawal from the Tipperary hurling panel for the 2012 season due to work commitments. On 13 May 2012, it was announced by Tipperary that Corbett had returned to the Tipperary Senior Hurling panel. On 24 June he made his comeback coming on as a substitute in the first half against Cork in the 2012 Munster Hurling Semi-Final as Tipperary won by 1–22 to 0–24.

Bill Maher is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling and Gaelic football with his local club Kilsheelan–Kilcash and with the Tipperary senior inter-county team since 2015 and Tipperary senior football team since 2016. Bill made the move to New York in late 2021 and joined up with the Brooklyn Shamrocks GFC club playing under the guidance of Tommy McConvey.

Brian Fox is an Irish Gaelic football who plays his club football for Éire Óg and previously at inter-county level for Tipperary. Fox is the nephew of former Tipperary hurler Pat Fox.
Alan Campbell is an Irish Gaelic football player who plays at inter-county level for Tipperary, and plays his club football for Moyle Rovers.
Robbie Kiely is an Irish Gaelic football player who plays plays his club football for Barryroe GAA in Cork and previously at inter-county level for Tipperary.

The Tipperary county football team represents Tipperary in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Tipperary GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Munster Senior Football Championship and the National Football League.
The 2008 season was Liam Sheedy's first season in charge of the Tipperary senior hurling team. He was appointed for a one-year term at a meeting of the county board on 25 September 2007. Paul Ormond was the team captain for the year but Eoin Kelly was the playing captain when Ormond wasn't named in the team.
