Jessica Moore and Varatchaya Wongteanchai were the defending champions, [1] but chose not to compete together. Moore played alongside Prarthana Thombare, but lost in the quarterfinals to Irina-Camelia Begu and Raluca Olaru. Wongteanchai teamed up with Alona Fomina, but lost in the first round to Jaqueline Cristian and Cristina Dinu.
Begu and Olaru went on to win the title, defeating Elise Mertens and Demi Schuurs in the final 6–3, 6–3.

Irina-Camelia Begu and María Irigoyen were the defending champions, but retired in the final against Ysaline Bonaventure and Rebecca Peterson.
Lara Arruabarrena and Irina-Camelia Begu were the defending champions but chose not to participate together. Begu teamed up with Raluca Olaru but lost in the semifinals to Kiki Bertens and Johanna Larsson.
Arruabarrena successfully defended the title alongside Andreja Klepač, defeating Kiki Bertens and Johanna Larsson in the final, 2–6, 6–3, [10–6].

The 2017 BRD Bucharest Open was a professional tennis tournament played on red clay courts. It was the 4th edition of the tournament and part of the 2017 WTA Tour. It took place at Arenele BNR in Bucharest, Romania between 17 and 24 July 2017.
This was the first edition of the tournament.
Çağla Büyükakçay was the defending champion, but lost in the quarterfinals to Elise Mertens.
Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková defeated Nicole Melichar and Květa Peschke in the final, 6–4, 4–6, 6–0 to win the ladies' doubles tennis title at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships. They became the first team to win the Channel Slam since Kim Clijsters and Ai Sugiyama in 2003, and the first team to win both the Wimbledon junior and senior doubles titles together.

Tímea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic defeated Duan Yingying and Zheng Saisai in the final, 6–2, 6–3 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2019 French Open.
Hsieh Su-wei and Barbora Strýcová defeated Gabriela Dabrowski and Xu Yifan in the final, 6−2, 6−4 to win the ladies' doubles tennis title at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships. With the win, Strýcová attained the WTA no. 1 doubles ranking for the first time – Kristina Mladenovic, Elise Mertens and Ashleigh Barty were also in contention for the top ranking. Hsieh and Strýcová won the title without losing a set during the tournament.

Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula defeated Leylah Fernandez and Taylor Townsend in the final, 7–6(8–6), 6–2 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2023 Miami Open. This marked the first all-North American final in the history of the event.
