The 2017 BYU Cougars women's soccer team represented BYU during the 2017 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. The Cougars were coached for a 23rd consecutive season by Jennifer Rockwood, who was co-coach in 1995 and became the solo head coach in 1996. Before 1995 BYU women's soccer competed as a club team and not as a member of the NCAA. The Cougars entered the 2017 season having won five consecutive West Coast Conference championships and having made the NCAA Tournament each of the last five seasons and in 18 of the 22 seasons that Rockwood has been the head coach. Joining Rockwood as assistant coaches are Brent Anderson (1st season) [1] and Aleisha Rose (14th season) with volunteer assistants Rachel Jorgensen (4th season) and McKinzie Young (6th season). The Cougars came off of a season were they advanced to the third round of the College Cup before being defeated by South Carolina to finish the season 18–3–1. The Cougars were picked to finish second by the WCC media. [2] After a slow start the Cougars finished the season with their first losing record since 2004 at 7–8–4 and failed to make the NCAA Playoffs for the first time since 2011. They finished the conference tied for fourth at 4–4–1.
All but one BYU women's soccer had a TV broadcast or internet video stream available. BYUtv and TheW.tv served as the primary providers. Information on these television broadcasts can be found under each individual match.
For a fourth consecutive season the BYU Sports Network aired BYU Cougars women's soccer games. Greg Wrubell provided play-by-play for most games with Jason Shepherd filling-in when Wrubell had football duties. Former player Paige Hunt Barker served as the new analyst. ESPN 960 and BYU Radio acted as the flagship stations for women's soccer.

The 2013–14 BYU Cougars men's basketball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was head coach Dave Rose's ninth season at BYU and the Cougars third season in the West Coast Conference. The Cougars played their home games at the Marriott Center. They finished the season 23–12, 13–5 in WCC play to finish in a tie for second place. They advanced to the championship game of the WCC tournament where they lost to Gonzaga. They received an at large bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the second round to Oregon.

It was head coach Dave Rose's tenth season at BYU and the Cougars fourth season in the West Coast Conference. The Cougars once again played their home games at the Marriott Center. They finished the season 25–10, 13–5 in WCC play to finish in a tie for second place. They advanced to the championship game of the WCC tournament where they lost to Gonzaga. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the First Four to Ole Miss.
The 2014–15 BYU Cougars women's basketball team represented Brigham Young University during the 2014–15 college basketball season. It was head coach Jeff Judkins' fourteenth season at BYU. The Cougars, members of the West Coast Conference, played their home games at the Marriott Center. They finished the season 22–10, 12–6 in WCC play to finish in fifth place. They Cougars won the WCC Tournament and earned an automatic trip to the NCAA women's tournament where they lost to Louisville in the first round.

Before 1995 BYU women's soccer competed as a club team and not as a member of the NCAA. The Cougars entered the 2014 season having won back-to-back West Coast Conference championships and having made the NCAA Tournament each of the last two seasons and in 15 of the 19 seasons that Rockwood has been the head coach. The Cougars would win the WCC title and secure a berth in the College Cup, where they lost to Colorado playing in the snow.

Before 1995 BYU women's soccer competed as a club team and not as a member of the NCAA. The Cougars entered the 2016 season having won four consecutive West Coast Conference championships and having made the NCAA Tournament each of the last four seasons and in 17 of the 21 seasons that Rockwood has been the head coach. The Cougars came off of a season were they advanced to the second round of the College Cup before being defeated by Stanford to finish the season 16–3–2. The Cougars split the WCC regular season title with Pepperdine and advanced to the third round of the NCAA College Cup before falling to South Carolina 1–0.

In 2019, the Cougars won the West Coast Conference tournament championship game over Gonzaga. In that tournament, Paisley Johnson was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. They finished the season 26–7, 15–3 in WCC play to finish in second round. In the NCAA women's tournament as a 7th seed in the Chicago regional they defeated Auburn in the first round before losing to Stanford in the second round.

The 2021–22 BYU Cougars men's basketball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was head coach Mark Pope's third season as BYU's head coach and the Cougars eleventh season as members of the West Coast Conference (WCC). The Cougars played their home games at the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah. They finished the season 24-11, 9-6 in WCC Play to finish in 5th place. They defeated Loyola Marymount in the Second Round of the WCC tournament before losing in the Third Round to San Francisco. They received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Long Beach State and Northern Iowa to advance to the quarterfinals where they lost to Washington State.

The Cougars come off of a season where they were second in the WCC and went 11–4–1, 7–1–1 in the WCC. Their lone conference loss came to eventual national champion Santa Clara, whom the Cougars beat in Santa Clara in a non-conference match. For the 2021 season BYU returned 10 starters, including defending WCC Offensive Player of the Year Mikayla Colohan, who was drafted by the Orlando Pride. Cameron Tucker, who recorded eight goals and eight assists in 2020–21, also returned. The others returning due to an extra year of eligibility granted due to the COVID-19 pandemic include goalkeeper Cassidy Smith, Grace Johnson and Mikaylie Call. The incoming class features six new athletes and no new transfers. The Cougars went on to share the WCC crown, advance to their first ever College Cup, and tied in the championship with Florida State before losing on penalties to finish as national runner–up.

The Cougars enter 2022 having been picked to win the WCC Championship in their final season before heading to the Big 12 Conference for the 2023 season.
