The Arizona Diamondbacks are an American professional baseball team based in Phoenix,Arizona. The Diamondbacks compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member of the National League (NL) West Division. The franchise was established on March 9,1995,and began play in 1998 as an expansion team. The team plays its home games at Chase Field. Along with the Tampa Bay Rays,the Diamondbacks are one of the newest teams in the MLB and are the youngest team to win a World Series.

He is seventh on baseball's all-time strikeout list with 3,574.
Harry Christopher"Chip" Caray III is an American television broadcaster for Bally Sports Midwest coverage of St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He joined the Cardinals' broadcast team after leaving the Atlanta Braves,where he had served as the television play-by-play voice from 2005 to 2022. Chip is also known from his time as a broadcaster for the Fox Saturday Game of the Week and as the television play-by-play broadcaster for the Chicago Cubs from 1998 to 2004. He was a member of the 2001 World Series champion Diamondbacks that beat the New York Yankees. Grace batted and threw left-handed;he wore jersey number 28 and 17 during his rookie season of 1988,and he kept number 17 for the remainder of his career.

He played the majority of his Major League Baseball career as a catcher with the San Francisco Giants. After retiring as a player,Brenly worked as a broadcaster with the Chicago Cubs,then as a coach with the Giants,then as a broadcaster for Fox. He was hired to manage the Arizona Diamondbacks for the 2001 season,and won the franchise's only championship his first year,becoming the fourth rookie manager to win a World Series and first since 1961. In 2004,Brenly was released by the Diamondbacks and again became a broadcaster with the Cubs until 2012. He now serves as a color commentator for Diamondbacks broadcasts.

Since leaving the Reds,he has served as a commentator for the Roberto Clemente League and for Chatterbox Sports.

He began on the Angels Spanish broadcast in 2002 and took on various roles on the English television broadcast starting in 2007. He worked alongside Amaury Pi-Gonzalez in the broadcast booth in Spanish and alongside Mark Gubicza in English. Fully bilingual,he conducts postgame interviews and often doubles as the translator for Spanish-speaking players. He served as a pre-and-postgame analyst on Angels Live and occasionally filled in as a backup play-by-play announcer for English broadcasts. The 2004 Major League Baseball season ended when the Boston Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in a four-game World Series sweep. The Red Sox championship ended an 86-year-long drought known as the Curse of the Bambino. The Red Sox were also the first team in MLB history and the third team from a major North American professional sports league ever to come back from a 3–0 postseason series deficit and win. This happened in the ALCS against the New York Yankees.
The Lethbridge Black Diamonds were a minor league baseball team located in Lethbridge,Alberta,Canada. The team was previously known as the Lethbridge Mounties from 1992–1995 before becoming the Lethbridge Black Diamonds from 1996–1998. They were one of the first two farm clubs of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Only 16 months after Arizona was granted a major league baseball franchise,the first farm club —the Lethbridge Black Diamonds —took the field. The team started playing two years before their parent club even played a game. The team played their first game in June 1996,whereas the Arizona Diamondbacks started playing in April 1998. The team played in the Pioneer League,which is a rookie league,with a shortened season,in Minor League Baseball. Their home stadium was Henderson Stadium. In 1999,the team was moved and became the Missoula Osprey.

The September 11 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington,D.C. pushed the end of the regular season from September 30 to October 7. Because of the attacks,the World Series was not completed until November 4. The 2001 World Series was the first World Series to end in November.

Waltz also called the Phoenix Regional of the World Baseball Classic for MLB Network and MLB International. A three-time Emmy winner,Waltz is formerly known for calling television broadcasts for the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball from 2005 to 2017. Waltz's dismissal by Fox Sports Florida and the Marlins was criticized by fans and media. Over the past few years,Waltz has called MLB for MLB Network and Turner Sports,including the Cubs' Alec Mills no-hitter,the sixth MLB no-hitter he has announced. Waltz also called the 2020 AL Wild Card Series for TBS alongside Jimmy Rollins.
