The 2017 Ball Hockey World Championship will be the 12th ball hockey world championship, and will be held in Pardubice, Czech Republic. The tournament began on 1 June 2017, and the gold medal game was played on 10 June 2017. Slovakia entered the tournament as the defending champions. The Canadian women's national ball hockey team with the bronze medal in women's play, while the United States qualified for the gold medal game for the first time in tournament history.

The men's ice hockey tournament at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, was the 18th Olympic Championship. Sweden won its first gold medal, becoming the sixth nation to ever win Olympic ice hockey gold. The tournament, held from February 12 to February 27, was played at the Fjellhallen in Gjøvik and the Håkons Hall in Lillehammer. There was no women's tournament at the Olympics until 1998.

Russia defeated the United States 3–2 in the final to claim the gold medal, while the Czech Republic defeated Canada 3–2 to capture the bronze medal.

The Ball Hockey World Championship is a biannual ball (street) hockey competition for women's and men's national teams. The first women's world championships were played in 2005, located in Pittsburgh, PA. The first championship was played in 1996 in Bratislava. Since the beginning of the best teams in Canada, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The first team to win a medal in addition to Canada, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the team of Italy in 2005 when he won the bronze medal match against Portugal. The 2012 IIHF World Women's Championships was the 14th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation and took place in Vermont, United States, at the Gutterson Fieldhouse in Burlington, and the Cairns Arena in South Burlington. The competition also served as qualifications for the 2013 competition, and the 2014 Olympics. The Top Division was contested between eight teams from April 7 to April 14, 2012, in Burlington and was hosted by USA Hockey.

Fannie Desforges is a Canadian ice hockey forward. She is the second Canadian woman to win a competition in the Red Bull Crashed Ice competition. In addition, she has competed for the Ottawa Gee Gees women's ice hockey program in Canadian Interuniversity Sport, while competing for the Canada women's national ball hockey team at the 2011 Street and Ball Hockey World Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia. In the 2013 CWHL Draft, she was selected by the Montreal Stars.

The 2019 IIHF World Championship was hosted from 10 to 26 May 2019 by Slovakia. It was the second time that Slovakia has hosted the event as an independent country, as was the case in 2011. The host cities were Bratislava and Košice, as announced by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) on 15 May 2015 in Prague, Czech Republic.

The 2014 IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship was the 19th IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship, an international inline hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The World Championship ran alongside the 2014 IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship Division I tournament and took place between 1 and 7 June 2014 in Pardubice, Czech Republic. The tournament was won by the Finland, earning their fourth World Championship title. Canada finished in second place and the United States in third after defeating Sweden in the bronze medal match. The World Championship runs alongside the 2017 IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship Division I tournament and took place between 25 June and 1 July 2017 in Bratislava, Slovakia at the Ondrej Nepela Arena. The tournament was won by the United States, earning their seventh World Championship title. Finland finished in second place and the Czech Republic in third after defeating Sweden in the bronze medal match.

The 2019 Ball Hockey World Championship was the 13th ball hockey world championship, and was held in Košice, Slovakia. The tournament began on 14 June 2019, with the gold medal game to be played on 22 June 2019. The Canada women's national ball hockey team defeated the United States women's national ball hockey team in the women's final to capture the gold medal, while the Czech Republic emerged with the bronze.

The 2022 Ball Hockey World Championship was the 14th ball hockey world championship, and was held in Laval, Canada. The tournament began on 21 June 2022, with the gold medal game held on 27 June 2022.

The 2022 Women's Ball Hockey World Championship was the eighth women's ball hockey tournament to be held as part of the Ball Hockey World Championship. It was organized by the International Street and Ball Hockey Federation in collaboration with the Canadian Ball Hockey Association and was held at the Place Bell in Laval, Quebec, Canada. The tournament began on 21 June 2022 and medal games were played 27 June 2022.
