Chan Yung-jan and Martina Hingis defeated Lucie Hradecká and Kateřina Siniaková in the final, 6–3, 6–2 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2017 US Open. It was their first Grand Slam title together, and their seventh title overall, all in 2017.
Sania Mirza and Barbora Strýcová were the defending champions, but chose not to participate together. Mirza played alongside Peng Shuai, but lost in the semifinals to Hsieh Su-wei and Monica Niculescu. Strýcová teamed up with Lucie Šafářová, but lost in the semifinals to Chan Yung-jan and Martina Hingis.

Aoyama played alongside Yang Zhaoxuan, and successfully defended her title, defeating Monique Adamczak and Storm Sanders in the final 6–0, 2–6, [10–5]. Ninomiya teamed up with Renata Voráčová, but lost to Aoyama and Yang in the semifinals.
Chan Hao-ching and Chan Yung-jan successfully defended their title, defeating Lu Jiajing and Wang Qiang in the final, 6–1, 6–1.
Shuko Aoyama and Erika Sema were the defending champions, having won the last edition in 2012 as an ITF tournament, but Sema chose not to participate. Aoyama partnered alongside Aleksandra Krunić, but lost in the semifinals to Margarita Gasparyan and Monica Niculescu.

Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková defeated Anna Danilina and Beatriz Haddad Maia in the final, 6–7(3–7), 6–4, 6–4 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2022 Australian Open. It was their fourth major title together.
Gabriela Dabrowski and Giuliana Olmos defeated Desirae Krawczyk and Demi Schuurs in the final, 7–6(7–1), 5–7, [10–7] to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2022 Madrid Open. This was Dabrowski's third consecutive final at the tournament, having lost the previous two editions in 2021 and 2019.
Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Daria Saville defeated Lucie Hradecká and Sania Mirza in the final, 5–7, 7–5, [10–6] to win the doubles tennis title at the 2022 Internationaux de Strasbourg.
Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková defeated the defending champion Elise Mertens and her partner Zhang Shuai in the final, 6–2, 6–4 to win the ladies' doubles tennis title at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. It was their second Wimbledon title together and fifth major title together overall.
Arina Rodionova and Yanina Wickmayer were the defending champions but they chose not to participate.
