Gstaad is a town in the German-speaking section of the Canton of Bern in southwestern Switzerland. It is part of the municipality of Saanen and is known as a major ski resort and a popular destination amongst high society and the international jet set. The winter campus of the Institut Le Rosey is located in Gstaad. Gstaad has a population of about 9,200 and is located 1,050 metres above sea level.
Gilberto Agustoni was a Swiss prelate of the Catholic Church. He worked in the Roman Curia from 1950 to 1998, ending his career as head of the Apostolic Signatura from 1992 to 1998. He became a Cardinal in 1994.
Crans-Montana is a municipality in the district of Sierre in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. On 1 January 2017 the former municipalities of Chermignon, Mollens, Montana and Randogne merged to form the new municipality of Crans-Montana.
Silvana Petra Tirinzoni is a Swiss curler from Zurich. She is currently the reigning women's world champion skip having won the last four championships, in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023. The Swiss Open Gstaad is a tennis tournament held in Gstaad, Switzerland. The tournament is played on outdoor clay courts. Between 1971 and 1989 it was an event of the Grand Prix tennis circuit and is now a part of the ATP Tour schedule as an ATP Tour 250 series event.
The Ladies Open Lausanne originally founded in 1899 as the Swiss International Championships. It is a women's professional tennis tournament which is currently played in Lausanne but has played in a number of locations in Switzerland.
The Montreux Volley Masters was an international invitational tournament for national teams in women's volleyball hosted by the Swiss Volley. Held annually in Montreux, Switzerland since 1984, it was the tournament that opened the international season for national teams. It ceased to exist after 34 editions in 2020.

It was the 42nd edition of the event known that year as the Allianz Suisse Open Gstaad and was part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the 2009 ATP World Tour. It took place at the Roy Emerson Arena in Gstaad, Switzerland, from 26 July through 2 August 2009.
Kenia Carcaces Opón, also known as Kenia Carcaces, is a Cuban volleyball player who competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing fourth with the Cuban team in the Olympic tournament. She won the 2007 Pan American Games gold medal in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Tatiana Sergeyevna Kosheleva is a Russian volleyball player. She was a member of the Russia women's national volleyball team that won the gold medal at the 2010 World Championship, the 2013 European Championship and the 2015 European Championship.
Kjell Tommy Christoffer Sundgren is a Swedish curler. He currently plays lead for the Swedish national team, skipped by Niklas Edin. The World Curling Federation's historical records rank Sundgren as one of the most successful curlers of all time, both in the medals that he has received and his lifetime performance in individual championships. He is one of only three curlers in history to have won both the Olympic Gold medal and five World Championship gold medals. In 2022, he surpassed the previous record holders for World Men's Curling Championship medals, winning his fifth gold medal, in addition to his and European Men's Curling Championship, placing him third of all time on both lists behind his teammates Edin and Oskar Eriksson. He also has reached thirty-five playoffs at Grand Slam of Curling events, including winning three Grand Slam tournaments and the Pinty's Cup as part of Team Niklas Edin, the first non-Canadian men's team to do so. In 2017, Sundgren and his teammates also became the first men's team in history to win four consecutive European Men's Curling Championships. In 2021, he and his teammates became the first men's team in history to win four consecutive World Men's Curling Championships.
Kathleen Weiß is a German volleyball player. She plays as setter and has over 300 appearances for the Germany women's national volleyball team. At club level she plays for Czech VK Agel Prostějov. Weiß has played in many international competitions and won various national championships and cups with the clubs she played for.
Anastasia Sergeyevna Samoilenko, née Shlyakhovaya is a Russian volleyball player. She was part of the Russia women's national volleyball team at the 2013 Summer Universiade in Kazan, the Montreux Volley Masters, the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix, the 2013 Women's European Volleyball Championship in Germany and Switzerland, and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Nina Betschart is a Swiss professional beach volleyball player who plays as a right side defender with her partner Tanja Hüberli. She is a two-time European Champion, winning the title in 2021 and 2023, and the silver medallist at the 2018 and 2022 European Championships. With her former partner Nicole Eiholzer, she won the gold medal at the first ever European Games in 2015. Alongside Hüberli, Betschart has won combined total of 1 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze medals on FIVB World Tour and its successor Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. Betschart / Hüberli team represented Switzerland at the 2020 Summer Olympics where they finished in ninth place and played a pivotal role at their country's triumph in the women's event of the inaugural CEV Beach Volleyball Nations Cup in 2022. They achieved a career-high World ranking of No. 2 in November 2021.
Ross Paterson is a retired Scottish curler from Glasgow. During his career, he represented Scotland at four World Men's Curling Championships and four European Curling Championships, winning a bronze medal at both the 2018 World Men's Curling Championship and the 2019 European Curling Championships. He also won silver at the 2007 Winter Universiade and bronze at the 2005 World Junior Curling Championships in his junior career. In 2018, he skipped his team to victory at the 2018 National Grand Slam of Curling event. He is a two-time champion at the Scottish Men's Curling Championship, winning the title in both 2016 and 2022.
Anders Berntsen Mol is a Norwegian beach volleyball player. He won the gold medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

The 2021 Swiss Mixed Doubles Curling Championship was held from January 27 to 30, 2021 at the Curlinghalle AG Biel in Biel, Switzerland. The winning pair of Briar Hürlimann and Yannick Schwaller then played against the 2020 Swiss champions Jenny Perret and Martin Rios for the right represent Switzerland at the 2021 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship.
