The Peshawar Zalmi is a franchise cricket team that represents Peshawar in the Pakistan Super League. They are one of the five original teams. After the Multan Sultans joined the league, the league was expanded to six teams that took part in the 2018 Pakistan Super League. They defeated Quetta Gladiators in the final to win their maiden PSL title and making them defending champion in 2018. [1]

Hasan Ali did not play the first for games but joined in the fifth to take 3 wickets. Darren Sammy was injured against Quetta Gladiators, but soon returned. They finished as Runners-up in the competition after defending the title against Islamabad United in the Final.

Shahid Afridi was traded to the Karachi Kings during off season, in return for one Gold and two Silver picks during the draft. This has been named as the biggest trade of the season. [2] [3] Iftikhar Ahmed was traded to the Islamabad United in exchange for supplementary pick in second round of draft. [4] [5]

Then PCB chairman Ramiz Raja had hinted at an auction based system to replace the draft for the 2023 season but a draft was retained. The draft for the tournament was held on 15 December in Karachi. A total of 36 foreign players were picked alongside local players. Lahore Qalandars were the defending champions.

The players draft for the seventh season of Pakistan Super League took place on 12 December 2021 at the High Performance Centre in Lahore. Before the draft, the teams were allowed to retain a maximum of 8 players and make any transfers. The transfer and retention window closed on 10 December 2021.

The Karachi Kings is a franchise cricket team that competed in the 2018 Season of Pakistan Super League. The team represents Karachi a city in Pakistan. Kings were coached by Mickey Arthur and appointed Imad Wasim as their new Captain succeeding from Kumar Sangakara from 2017 edition.They finished the tournament on 3rd position as Peshawar Zalmi beat them by 13 runs in Eliminator round of PSL.

The player draft for the 2024 Pakistan Super League was held on 13 December 2023 at the National Cricket Academy, Lahore. Before the draft, teams were allowed to retain a maximum of eight players and make transfers.
