The 2018 Stephen F. Austin football team represented Stephen F. Austin State University in the 2018 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Lumberjacks were led by interim head coach Jeff Byrd and played their home games at Homer Bryce Stadium. They were a member of the Southland Conference. They finished the season 2–8, 2–7 in Southland play to finish in tenth place.
On June 18, head coach Clint Conque was suspended indefinitely pending an investigation into alleged violations of university policy. [1] On August 6, Conque announced his resignation from SFA. [2]
On July 12, 2018, the Southland announced their Preseason All-Conference Teams, with the Lumberjacks having five players selected at six positions. [3]

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks football program is the intercollegiate American football team for Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) located in the U.S. state of Texas. The team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) as members of the United Athletic Conference. The UAC, newly formed for the 2023 season, is a merger of the football leagues of SFA's primary home of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and the ASUN Conference. It replaces an alliance between the two conferences that operated in the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Clint Conque is a retired American college football coach and former player. Conque was the head football coach at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) from 2000 to 2013 and Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) from 2014 to 2017, compiling a career head coaching record of 126–84.

They received an at-large bid to the FCS Playoffs where they defeated Southern Utah, McNeese State, and Colgate to advance to the Semifinals, where they lost to Jacksonville State. The 2015 season marked the Bearkats' 100th season of football.

The Lumberjacks finished the season with a record of 28–6, 18–0 in Southland play to win the regular season championship. They won the Southland tournament championship to earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. As a #14 seed, they upset #8 ranked West Virginia in the first round before losing in the final seconds to Notre Dame in the second round.

They defeated Lamar in the quarterfinals of the Southland tournament to advance to the Semifinals where they lost to Texas A&M–Corpus Christi. They were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they lost in the first round to Idaho.
Kyle Edward Keller is an American basketball coach, currently the head coach for the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks men's basketball team. Previously, he served as an assistant coach at Texas A&M, Kansas, Oklahoma State, UTSA, Louisiana Tech and head coach at Tyler Junior College.

They were led by head coach Todd Whitten, who was in his third consecutive season at Tarleton State and ninth overall as the head coach of the program. The Texans played their home games at Memorial Stadium and were members of the Lone Star Conference. The Texans finished the regular season with an overall record of 10–0 record and mark of 8–0 in conference play, and winning the LSC championship.
