Walker was a two-time World Junior Champion when he won gold in 2006 and 2007.

The 2013 Alberta Boston Pizza Cup, the men's provincial curling championship for Alberta, was held from February 6 to 10 at the Leduc Recreation Centre in Leduc, Alberta. The winner of the Boston Pizza Cup represented Alberta at the 2013 Tim Hortons Brier in Edmonton.

Qualification for the 2013 Boston Pizza Cup consisted of both direct and indirect qualification. The defending champion and the highest-ranked team on the Canadian Team Ranking System qualified directly, as do two teams from the Alberta Curling Federation based on their performance on the ̇World Curling Tour. Eight more teams qualified through qualification events hosted by the constituent associations of the Alberta Curling Federation.

The 2019 Tim Hortons Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, was held from March 2 to 10 at Westoba Place in Brandon, Manitoba. In the final, Kevin Koe of Alberta defeated Team Wildcard skipped by Brendan Bottcher 4–3 by scoring two in the tenth end to win. It was the lowest scoring Brier final since 1992, which was held before the adoption of any free guard zone rule.

The 2020 Alberta Boston Pizza Cup presented by Best Western, the provincial men's curling championship for Alberta, was held from February 5 to 9 at the Westlock Curling Club in Westlock, Alberta. The winning Brendan Bottcher rink represented Alberta at the 2020 Tim Hortons Brier in Kingston, Ontario.

The 2022 Boston Pizza Cup presented by Best Western, the provincial men's curling championship for Alberta, was held January 3 to 9 at the Bonnetts Energy Centre in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The winning Kevin Koe team represented Alberta at the 2022 Tim Hortons Brier in Lethbridge, Alberta. The event was held in conjunction with the 2022 Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship.

The 2023 Boston Pizza Cup, the provincial men's curling championship for Alberta, was held February 8 to 12 at the River Cree Resort and Casino in Enoch, Alberta. The winning Kevin Koe rink represented Alberta at the 2023 Tim Hortons Brier in London, Ontario where after placing second in Pool A with a 7–1 record, they lost in the Championship round semifinal to Ontario 9–8.
