The 2018 Boston Pizza Cup was held 31 January to 4 February at the Grant Fuhr Arena in Spruce Grove, Alberta. The winning Brendan Bottcher rink represented Alberta at the 2018 Tim Hortons Brier in Regina, Saskatchewan. [1]

Qualification Method

Twelve teams qualified for the provincial tournament through several methods. The qualification process is as follows:

  1. ^ Because he had competed as Team Canada in the 2017 Tim Hortons Brier, Kevin Koe would also have been eligible for direct entry to the 2018 Boston Pizza Cup as a past provincial/national champion. Had Koe entered, only one team would have qualified via ACF bonspiel points. However, Koe's team withdrew from the 2018 Boston Pizza Cup after qualifying to represent Canada in the 2018 Winter Olympics.

John C. Morris is a Canadian curler, and two-time Olympic gold medallist from Canmore, Alberta. Morris played third for the Kevin Martin team until April 24, 2013. Morris grew up in Gloucester, Ontario and at the age of five began curling at the Navy Curling Club.

The 2019 Tim Hortons Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, was held from March 2 to 10 at Westoba Place in Brandon, Manitoba. In the final, Kevin Koe of Alberta defeated Team Wildcard skipped by Brendan Bottcher 4–3 by scoring two in the tenth end to win. It was the lowest scoring Brier final since 1992, which was held before the adoption of any free guard zone rule.

The 2019 Alberta Boston Pizza Cup presented by Best Western, the provincial men's curling championship for Alberta, was held from February 6 to 10 at the Ellerslie Curling Club in Edmonton, Alberta. The winning Kevin Koe team represented Alberta at the 2019 Tim Hortons Brier in Brandon, Manitoba.

Jeremy Harty is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. He currently plays third for Team Aaron Sluchinski.

Kyler Kleibrink is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. He currently is the second on the Brent Pierce rink out of New Westminster, British Columbia.
