The 2019 Shengxin IWF World Cup [3] in weightlifting was held in Tianjin, China from 10 to 13 December 2019. It was also a qualification event for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Shi Zhiyong set the new men's -73 kg clean and jerk world record at 198 kg. Deng Wei set the new women's -64 kg snatch world record at 117 kg. Eileen Cikamatana set two new women's -81 kg junior world records in the clean and jerk (150 kg) and the total (260 kg).

Andrei Rybakou is a former Belarusian weightlifter, Olympian and two-time World Champion who competed in the 85 kg category. In 2016, after a retest of his 2008 samples tested positive for Dehydrochloromethyl-testosterone and Stanozolol his performance at the 2008 Olympic Games was disqualified, as well as his Olympic record and World record set during the competition. He was also ordered to return his silver medal.
Ivan Ivanov Ivanov is a Bulgarian former weightlifter and current head coach of the national Bulgarian weightlifting teams. He claimed one gold medal at the 1992 Olympic Games, four time World Champion, and five time European Champion. He won the 1990 World Cup. Ivan also won 1991 World Cup Final in Barcelona and 1990 World Cup Final in Tainan, and in 1989 in Lisbon he finished second. In 1990, he became a gold medalist in Total and Clean, and Jerk and silver, medalist in Snatch of the Goodwill Games in Seattle. Ivanov was named the Best Weightlifter in the World by the International Weightlifting Federation for 1989 and 1990. Ivanov is also a three-time World Junior Champion and twice European Junior Champion. He was elected as the best coach of Bulgaria for 2019 by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the country together with the trainer on rhythmic gymnastics Vesela Dimitrova.
Ilya Aleksandrovich Ilyin is a retired Kazakhstani weightlifter who won four world championships. On 12 December, 2015 at the President's Cup in Grozny, Russia, Ilyin set two world records in the −105 kg class. He lifted 246 kg in the clean and jerk and 437 kg in the total. Ilyin was named IWF World Weightlifter of the Year four times: in 2005, 2006, 2014, and 2015.
Kang Yue is a Chinese weightlifter, and World Champion competing in the 75 kg division until 2018 and 87 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories.
Chen Lijun is a Chinese weightlifter, Olympic Champion, five time World Champion and two time Asian Champion competing in the 62 kg division until 2018 and 67 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories.
Lasha Talakhadze is a Georgian weightlifter, holding the all-time world records regardless of weight category in the snatch, the clean and jerk, and the total since 2021.
Fares Ibrahim Saed Hassouna El-Bakh, commonly known as Meso Hassouna, is a Qatari weightlifter, Olympic Champion, World Champion and two time Junior World Champion competing in the 85 kg, and 94 kg categories until 2018 and 96 kg and 102 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories.
Li Dayin is a Chinese weightlifter and Asian Champion competing in the 89 kg division. He has set three world records and holds the snatch junior world record in the 81 kg division, as well as the snatch and total senior world record in the 89 kg division. He won the gold medal in the men's 81 kg event at the 2022 World Weightlifting Championships held in Bogotá, Colombia.
Huang Ting is a Chinese weightlifter competing in the −64 kg division.
Li Wenwen, born 5 March 2000, is a Chinese weightlifter competing in the women's +87 kg division. She won the Olympic gold medal for the +87 kg division in 2020, and is the current world champion, as well as the incumbent Asian champion. In 2021, she set the current world records for both clean & jerk and snatch.
Liao Qiuyun is a Chinese weightlifter. She is the silver medalist at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and World and Asian Champion. She competes in the women's 55 kg division.
