Curling Ontario is the governing body of curling in Southern Ontario. Northern Ontario is governed by the Northern Ontario Curling Association (NOCA). The Curling Ontario sends a team to represent Team Ontario at all major Canadian Championships. The NOCA sends a separate team to all of these events.
The Ontario Tankard is the Southern Ontario provincial championship for men's curling. The winner represents Team Ontario at the Montana's Brier. The tournament is overseen by CurlON.
The 2017 Recharge With Milk Men's Tankard, better known as the Ontario Tankard was the 2017 edition of the Ontario men's provincial curling championship to determine who will represent the province of Ontario at the 2017 Tim Hortons Brier, the national curling championship of Canada. In 2017, the Tankard was contesteded in conjunction with the 2017 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, at the Cobourg Community Centre in Cobourg, Ontario, January 29-February 5, 2017.
The 2017 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held January 30 to February 5 at the Cobourg Community Centre in Cobourg, Ontario. The winning Rachel Homan rink represented Ontario at the 2017 Scotties Tournament of Hearts on home ice in St. Catharines, Ontario. Homan went on to win her third Scotties Tournament of Hearts, defeating Manitoba's Michelle Englot in the final.
The 2018 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held January 10 to 14 at the Whitby Curling Club in Whitby, Ontario. The winning team represented Ontario at the 2018 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Penticton, British Columbia.
The 2018 Ontario Tankard, known as the Dairy Farmers of Ontario Tankard for sponsorship reasons was the 2018 provincial men's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held from January 31 to February 4 at the Canada Summit Centre in Huntsville, Ontario. The winning John Epping team represented Ontario at the 2018 Tim Hortons Brier in Regina, Saskatchewan.

The 2019 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held January 28 to February 2 at the Woolwich Memorial Centre in Elmira, Ontario. The winning team of skip Rachel Homan, third Emma Miskew, second Joanne Courtney and lead Lisa Weagle represented Ontario at the 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Sydney, Nova Scotia, finishing second. Homan defeated Julie Tippin in the final with a final score of 7-5. The event was held in conjunction with the 2019 Ontario Tankard, the men's provincial championship. This was the sixth time the team played at the Scotties and the fourth time representing Ontario.

The winning Mike McEwen rink represented Ontario at the 2023 Tim Hortons Brier on home soil in London, Ontario where they finished fourth place losing in the 3 vs. 4 Page Playoff game to Wild Card #1 6–3.
The 2023 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held from January 23 to 29 at The Plex in Port Elgin, Ontario. The winning Rachel Homan rink represented Ontario at the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national women's curling championship in Kamloops, British Columbia where they made the Championship round losing to Nova Scotia 7–6 in an extra end.

The event was held in conjunction with the 2024 Ontario Tankard, the provincial men's curling championship. Both events are held together in non-Olympic years.
