During the Parade of Nations at the 2019 Pan American Games opening ceremony, on July 26, 2019, 41 athletes bearing the flags of their respective nations lead their national delegations as they paraded into Estadio Nacional in the host city of Lima, Peru

March order

Athletes entered the stadium in an order dictated by tradition. As the host of the first Pan American Games, Argentina entered first. The Peruvian delegation entered last, representing the host nation. The remaining countries entered in Spanish alphabetical order as per Pan American Sports Organization protocol. [1]

These were the first Pan American Games to be held in Peru, and the seventh to be held in South America.

During the Parade of Nations at the 2011 Pan American Games opening ceremony, held beginning at 18:00 CDT on February 14, 2011, 42 athletes bearing the flags of their respective nations led their national delegations as they paraded into Omnilife Stadium in the host city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

Cristián Escalante is a Chilean a weightlifter competing in the +105 kg category. Escalante has competed in three Pan American Games starting in 1999. Escalante in 1996 became the first weightlifter to qualify for the Olympics from Chile.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics Parade of Nations of the 2012 London Olympics, athletes and officials from each participating country paraded into the Olympic Stadium preceded by their national flag to the sound of iconic British modern music. Each flag bearer was chosen by each nation's National Olympic Committee or by the delegation of athletes.

The 2015 Pan American Games Parade of Nations occurred at the 2015 Pan American Games opening ceremony, held beginning at 18:45 Eastern Daylight Time (UTC−4) on July 10, 2015. 41 athletes bearing the flags of their respective nations led their national delegations as they paraded into Pan Am Ceremonies Venue in the host city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Roberto Alexander Hernández Maldonado is a Salvadoran archer competing in men's compound events. He won the gold medal in the men's individual compound event at the 2019 Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru. As a result, he became the first man from El Salvador to win gold at the Pan American Games. He was the flag bearer during the Parade of Nations at the 2019 Pan American Games opening ceremony.
