Kahena Kunze (born 12 March 1991) is a Brazilian sailor in the 49er FX class. [2] Together with Martine Grael she won the 49er FX class at the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships [3] and a gold medal in the inaugural 49er FX race, during the 2016 Rio Olympics, [4] a feat both repeated at Tokyo 2020. [5]
She is the daughter of Claudio Kunze, a former sailor who won a junior world championship in the Penguin class. Her name is an homage to the warrior Kahina. [6]

Robert Scheidt is a Brazilian sailor who has won two gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze from five Olympic Games and a Star Sailors League Final. He is one of the most successful sailors at Olympic Games and one of the most successful Brazilian Olympic athletes, being one of only two to earn five medals along with fellow sailor Torben Grael, and the only Brazilian sailor to win medals in both dinghy and keelboat classes.

Brazil competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Women 49er FX is a sailing event on the Sailing at the 2020 Summer Olympics program in Tokyo and took place between 27 July – 3 August. The defending champions, Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze from Brazil, won the event. Tina Lutz and Susann Beucke from Germany were the second, and Annemiek Bekkering and Annette Duetz from the Netherlands won the bronze medal. For Lutz, Beucke, Bekkring, and Duetz this was the first Olympic medal.
