Novak Djokovic defeated Gaël Monfils in the final, 6–2, 5–7, 7–6(7–3) to win the singles tennis title at the 2009 Paris Masters. It was his first Paris Masters title, and the first of an eventual record seven titles at the event.
Five-time defending champion Rafael Nadal defeated Fernando Verdasco in the final, 6–0, 6–1 to win the singles tennis title at the 2010 Monte-Carlo Masters. It was his first title in 11 months, and he lost only 14 games and no sets en route to the title.
Seven-time defending champion Rafael Nadal defeated Novak Djokovic in the final, 6–3, 6–1 to win the singles tennis title at the 2012 Monte-Carlo Masters. Nadal became the first man in the Open Era to win a tournament eight consecutive times. He did not lose a single set in the entire tournament.

Roger Federer defeated Novak Djokovic in the final, 6–0, 7–6 (9–7) to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2012 Cincinnati Masters. It was his record fifth Cincinnati Masters title, and the first time that a player won an ATP Tour Masters 1000 event without having his serve broken or losing a set. Federer would repeat this accomplishment at the 2015 event. It was Djokovic's fourth runner-up finish at the tournament.
Novak Djokovic defeated the two-time defending champion Andy Murray in the final, 5–7, 7–6(13–11), 6–3 to win the singles tennis title at the 2012 Shanghai Masters. Djokovic saved five championship points en route to the title, and ended Murray's perfect 12–0 record at the event. The final was voted as the best ATP World Tour match of the 2012 season.
