Defending champion Roger Federer defeated Novak Djokovic in the final, 7–6(7–1), 6–3, to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2015 Cincinnati Masters. He won the title without losing a set or having his serve broken for the second time, after 2012. It marked the first time Federer defeated the world No. 1 and No. 2 players in consecutive matches en route to a title. It was Djokovic's fifth runner-up finish without winning the title.
Stan Wawrinka was the two-time defending champion and successfully defended his title, defeating Borna Ćorić in the final, 6–3, 7–5.
Ilya Uladzimiravich Ivashka is a Belarusian professional tennis player. Ivashka has a career-high singles ranking by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) of No. 40, achieved on 20 June 2022. He also has a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 340, reached on 15 August 2016. He is the current No. 1 Belarusian men's singles player. Additionally, Ivashka has won five ITF singles titles and three ITF doubles titles. Ivashka has represented Belarus in Davis Cup, and has a win-loss record of 9–10.

The 2020 Auckland Open was a joint ATP and WTA tennis tournament, played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 35th edition of the women's event, and the 44th edition of the men's event. It took place at the ASB Tennis Centre in Auckland, New Zealand, from 6 to 12 January 2020 for the women, and from 13 to 18 January 2020 for the men.

Thanasi Kokkinakis defeated Arthur Rinderknech in the final, 6–7(6–8), 7–6(7–5), 6–3 to win the men's singles title at the 2022 Adelaide International 2. It was his maiden ATP Tour title, and he won it in his hometown of Adelaide.
Reilly Opelka defeated Jenson Brooksby in the final, 7–6(7–5), 7–6(7–3) to win the singles title at the 2022 Dallas Open. This was the first edition of the tournament.
Taylor Fritz defeated Rafael Nadal in the final, 6–3, 7–6(7–5) to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2022 Indian Wells Masters. It was his maiden Masters 1000 title and second career title overall. Fritz became the first American to win the title since Andre Agassi in 2001, and ended Nadal's 20-match winning streak, dating back to the 2022 Melbourne Open.
