This restrictions have eased to reduce a number of spectators to 350, and limited of photographers and journalists.

The victory earned Barty her first successful title defense in her singles career and made her the sixth woman to accomplish a title defense at the Miami Open.

Paula Badosa defeated Barbora Krejčíková in the final, 6–3, 4–6, 7–6(7–4) to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2022 Sydney International. Krejčíková reached the final after having saved seven match points in her semifinal match against Anett Kontaveit.

This was the second edition of the Adelaide International held in 2022, although this was the first time that the event was held at WTA 250 level.

Iga Świątek won the women's singles tennis title at the 2022 Indian Wells Masters, defeating Maria Sakkari in the final, 6–4, 6–1. Świątek became the first Polish player to win a title at Indian Wells, and also rose to a career-high ranking of No. 2 in the world by winning the title.
