This event is held at the end of each year, except in 2017, the Entertainment Awards were not held due to the KBS Variety Director Strike.

Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend, also known as Immortal Songs 2, is a South Korean television music competition program presented by Shin Dong-yup. It is a revival of Immortal Songs (2007–2009), and each episode features singers who perform their reinterpreted versions of songs.

Kim Jun-ho, also known as Charlie Kim, is a South Korean comedian, singer and television personality. He has starred in Gag Concert since 1999 and was a member of the variety show 2 Days & 1 Night from 2013 to 2019. He has also been the executive chairman of Busan International Comedy Festival since its conception in 2013.

The 20th anniversary ceremony was opened with a special performance that looks back on the past KBS entertainment and covers it all. The awards ceremony was broadcast live at KBS Hall at 21.15 (KST). It was hosted by Seol In-ah, Moon Se-yoon and Kang Chan-hee.
