The 2020 season was Kelantan's 75th year in their history and second season in the Malaysia Premier League since 2019 following relegation 2018 season. Along with the league, the club also participated in the Malaysia FA Cup and the Malaysia Cup.
On 22 February 2020, the club launched their Jerseys and kits. [1]
On 2 March 2020, the club has announced that Christopher Jackson injured and unable to play anytime soon. [2] Lazarus Kaimbi joined the club from Sri Pahang. [3]
On 13 July 2020, Kang Seung-jo left the club for K2 League club Gyeongnam. [4]
On 15 August 2020, the club launched new jerseys after former main sponsor After Image withdrew their sponsorship. Stechmad Sdn Bhd became club's new main sponsor afterwards. [5]
On 3 September 2020, Norizam Tukiman completed his purchased of the club from Kelantan Football Association for a reported RM6.8 million. [6] [7]
On 29 September 2020, the club has been officially approved for the privatization by Football Association of Malaysia. [8]

The 2019 season was Sabah's 7th competitive season in the second tier of Malaysian football, the Malaysia Premier League after relegated in 2012. Along with the Malaysia Premier League, the club competes in the Malaysia FA Cup and the Malaysia Cup.

The 2022 season was Selangor's 17th season in the Super League and their 37th consecutive season in the top flight of Malaysia football. The club also participates in the Malaysia Cup and will also participate in the FA Cup.
The 2023 Malaysia Super League is the 20th season of the Malaysia Super League, the top-tier professional football league in Malaysia for association football clubs since its establishment in 2004, and the 42nd season of top-flight Malaysia football overall. It is the first season after restructuring, with 18 teams. However, MFL announced there will be only 16 teams as they rejected both Sarawak United and Melaka United due to failed licensing appeal. The league shrunk to 15 teams after Petaling Jaya City officially withdrawn due to the expansion and increased foreign player quota, which are diverted from the club's main vision. On 5 January 2023, UiTM officially withdrawn due to the financial problems. The new season therefore has 14 teams, kicking-off on 24th February.
