The 2014 season was Kelantan FA's 6th season in the Malaysia Super League and 19th successive season in the top flight of Malaysian football league system.

Contents

The campaign featured Kelantan's 3rd consecutive appearance in the AFC Cup because they were the 2013 Malaysia FA Cup's winner. [1]

FA Cup

Having finished as the champion of the last two consecutive seasons, Kelantan will begin their FA Cup campaign in the second round, having given a bye in the first round. The draw for the FA Cup's first and subsequent rounds was held on 29 November 2013 at Grand BlueWave Hotel, Shah Alam, Selangor. [8] Kelantan will play against the winner of the first round match between Pahang Kuantan FA and Sabah. [8]

The draw for the 2014 Malaysia Cup was held on 13 July 2014 at the Dewan Perdana, National Sports Institute [9] and Kelantan FA was drawn into a tough group containing JDT, their opponent from last season semi final ATM and Pulau Pinang.

AFC Cup

The draw for the group stage was held on 10 December 2013 at AFC House, Kuala Lumpur. [10] Kelantan, eligible as the winner of 2013 Malaysia FA Cup, was grouped in Group G and will start the campaign against Yangon United away from home on 26 February 2014. [11]

He also is the former captain of Kelantan. Badhri is Kelantan's most successful captain, having led them won two consecutive league titles and several domestic cups. He also was the captain of his team when they won all three major cups during 2012 season. Apart from that, he also led the team until last quarter in debut Kelantan during 2012 AFC Cup.

    The 2013 Liga Super also known as the Astro Liga Super for sponsorship reasons, is the 10th season of the Liga Super, the top-tier professional football league in Malaysia.

    The 2013 season was Kelantan's 5th season in the Malaysia Super League. They were defending Malaysia Super League champions and aimed for 3rd league title this season. Furthermore, they were competing in the AFC Cup for the second consecutive seasons. In addition, they were competing in the domestic tournaments, the FA Cup and the Malaysia Cup as the last season's runners-up and defending champion respectively.

    Kelantanese Malays are a sub-ethnic group of Malays native to the state of Kelantan, Malaysia as well as in Northern Terengganu. The Kelantanese Malays are closely related to Thai Malays and Terengganuan Malays in neighbouring Terengganu, these two Malay sub-ethnic groups shared historical, cultural and linguistic as well as kinship ties with the Kelantanese Malays. Kelantanese Malays form 94% of Kelantan's population, which makes them the largest ethnic group in Kelantan and around 150,000 in Besut, Terengganu.
