The knockout stage of the 2021 Copa América began on 2 July 2021 with the quarter-finals and ended on 10 July 2021 with the final at the Estádio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro. [1]
Originally, the knockout stage was scheduled to be played from 4 to 12 July 2020. [2] [3] However, on 17 March 2020 the tournament was postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in South America. [4]

The 2019 Copa América was the 46th edition of the Copa América, the international men's association football championship organized by South America's football ruling body CONMEBOL. It was held in Brazil and took place between 14 June and 7 July 2019 at 6 venues across the country. This was the first time since 1991 where no CONCACAF nation took part in the tournament.

This was the first time since 1991 where no guest nation took part in the tournament.
The South American section of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification acted as qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, to be held in Qatar, for national teams which are members of the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL). A total of 4.5 slots in the final tournament were available for CONMEBOL teams.
Group C of the 2019 Copa América took place from 16 to 24 June 2019. The group consisted of title holders Chile, Ecuador, guests Japan of the AFC, and Uruguay.

The 2021 Copa Libertadores qualifying stages were played from 23 February to 15 April 2021. A total of 19 teams competed in the qualifying stages to decide four of the 32 places in the group stage of the 2021 Copa Libertadores.

The 2021 Copa Libertadores final stages were played from 13 July to 27 November 2021. A total of 16 teams competed in the final stages to decide the champions of the 2021 Copa Libertadores, with the final played in Montevideo, Uruguay at Estadio Centenario.
The 2023 South American U-17 Championship was the 19th edition of the South American U-17 Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organized by CONMEBOL for the men's under-17 national teams of South America. It was held in Ecuador between 30 March and 23 April 2023. This was the first U-17 championship in four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic forcing CONMEBOL to cancel the tournament in 2021.
The 2022 Copa Libertadores qualifying stages were played from 8 February to 17 March 2022. A total of 19 teams competed in the qualifying stages to decide four of the 32 places in the group stage of the 2022 Copa Libertadores.
