The 2021 PCS season was the second year of the Pacific Championship Series (PCS), a professional esports league for the MOBA PC game League of Legends .
The spring regular season was scheduled to begin on 5 February but was delayed to 19 February due to regional COVID-19 restrictions. [1] The spring split concluded with the spring finals on 18 April.
The summer split began with the first day of the summer regular season on 9 July and concluded with the summer finals on 29 August.
PSG Talon was the PCS' representative at the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational and first seed at the 2021 World Championship. Beyond Gaming was the PCS' second seed at the 2021 World Championship.
The organisers of the PCS announced on 4 August 2020 that a promotion tournament would be introduced for the 2021 season to promote regional competitiveness. [2] Singaporean team Resurgence, which finished tenth in both splits of the 2020 season, had to play a relegation match against Impunity Esports from the Singaporean and Malaysian qualifier. Resurgence was relegated after a close series and Impunity Esports took their spot. [3] Filipino team Liyab Esports, which finished ninth in both splits of the 2020 season, swept Panic Time from the Filipino qualifier in their relegation match and kept their spot.

ahq eSports Club announced on 6 January 2021 that it would no longer participate in the PCS. [4] Xue "Dinter" Hong-wei, who was previously the jungler for Taipei Assassins and Hong Kong Esports, acquired ahq's spot and created a new team named Beyond Gaming. [5] Nova Esports also withdrew from the league [6] and was replaced by BOOM Esports. [7]

The League Championship Series (LCS) is the top level of professional League of Legends in the United States and Canada. The esports league is run by Riot Games and has ten franchise teams. Each annual season of competition is divided into two splits, spring and summer, which conclude with a double-elimination tournament between the top eight teams. At the end of the season, the winner, runners-up and third-place team of the summer playoffs qualify for the annual League of Legends World Championship.
League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) is the primary competition for League of Legends esports in South Korea. Contested by ten teams, the league runs two seasons per year and serves as a direct route to qualification for the annual League of Legends World Championship. The LCK is administered in cooperation between Riot Games and KeSPA.
ahq eSports Club is a Taiwanese professional esports organization with teams competing in League of Legends, Arena of Valor, A.V.A, and Heroes of the Storm. Their League of Legends team was formed in September 2012 and previously competed in the Pacific Championship Series, the successor to the League of Legends Masters Series. After winning the 2015 LMS Summer Playoffs, AHQ qualified for the 2015 World Championship, where they placed fifth to eighth after losing to SKT T1 in the quarterfinals.
The League of Legends European Championship (LEC) is the professional League of Legends esports league run by Riot Games in Europe, in which ten teams compete. Each annual season of play is divided into two splits, spring and summer, both consisting of nine weeks of round-robin tournament play, which then conclude with play-off tournaments between the top six teams. At the end of the season, the top performing teams qualify for the annual League of Legends World Championship. The LEC represents the highest level of League of Legends play in Europe.
Zachary Scuderi, better known as Sneaky, is a professional League of Legends player, streamer and prominent crossplayer. He played AD Carry for Cloud9 of the League of Legends Championship Series North America until 2019. He won the 2013 Summer NA LCS and 2014 Spring NA LCS with Cloud9. Scuderi is also known for his cosplays of anime and video game characters.
Team Vitality is a French esports organisation founded in August 2013 by Fabien Devide and Nicolas Maurer. It has several professional teams and content creators from across Europe and India.
GAM Esports is a professional League of Legends team competing in the Vietnam Championship Series (VCS), the highest level of competitive League of Legends in Vietnam. The team first rose to international prominence in 2017, after their exceptional performance at that year's Mid-Season Invitational (MSI).
Hong Kong Attitude (HKA) is a professional esports organisation based in Hong Kong. Its parent company is Hong Kong Esports, and all of its teams were previously known by that name from October 2014 to 16 May 2017.
G-Rex, officially G-Rex Gaming and previously Raise Gaming, was a professional esports organisation based in Hong Kong. Its parent company was Emperor Esports Stars, a subsidiary of Emperor Entertainment Group. It had a League of Legends team competing in the LMS, the highest level of professional League of Legends in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. The team qualified for the 2018 World Championship after winning that year's LMS Regional Finals.
