The Northwestern Wildcats football team represents Northwestern University as an NCAA Division I college football team and member of the Big Ten Conference based near Chicago in Evanston, Illinois. Founded in 1851, Northwestern began playing football in 1882. Its football mascot is the Wildcat, a term coined by a Chicago Tribune reporter in 1924, after reporting on a football game where the players appeared as "a wall of purple wildcats". Northwestern Football is also marketed as "Chicago's Big Ten Team" with its proximity and ties to Chicago.
The Weber State Wildcats are the varsity athletic teams representing Weber State University in Ogden, Utah in intercollegiate athletics, sponsoring 16 teams. The Wildcats compete in NCAA Division I FCS and are charter members (1963) of the Big Sky Conference. The mascot is Waldo the Wildcat and team colors are purple and white, with black as an accessory color.
The Weber State Wildcats football program is the intercollegiate American football team for Weber State University, located in Ogden, Utah. The Wildcats are led by coach Mickey Mental following the 2022 departure of Jay Hill, the winningest coach in program history.
The 2012 Weber State Wildcats football team represented Weber State University in the 2012 NCAA Division I FCS football season. In December 2011, John L. Smith was hired to be the new head coach. That all changed on April 23, 2012. On April 23, John L. Smith was offered a one-year contract to be the new head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks, so he left Weber State to take the position after being head coach for roughly 3+1⁄2 months. On April 26, Weber State announced that Jody Sears would serve as interim head coach for the 2012 season in addition to the defensive coordinator spot he was hired for earlier in April. Weber State played their home games at Stewart Stadium. They are a member of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 2–9, 2–6 in Big Sky play to finish in a tie for 11th place.

Jody Sears returned as the head coach for the 2013 season, after being the interim head coach during 2012, and will be working with a new offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator in Robin Pflugrad and Eric Lewis. Weber State played their home games at Stewart Stadium. They were a member of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 2–10, 1–7 in Big Sky play to finish in a tie for 11th place.
The 2013–14 Weber State Wildcats men's basketball team represented Weber State University during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Wildcats were led by eighth year head coach Randy Rahe and played their home games at the Dee Events Center. They were members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 19–12, 14–6 in Big Sky play to win the Big Sky regular season championship. They were also champions of the Big Sky Conference tournament to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the second round to Arizona.

The 2016 Weber State Wildcats football team represented Weber State University in the 2016 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Wildcats were led by third year head coach Jay Hill and played their games at Stewart Stadium and were members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 7–5, 6–2 in Big Sky play to finish in third place. They received an at-large bid to the FCS Playoffs where they lost to Chattanooga in the first round.
The 2017 Weber State Wildcats football team represented Weber State University in the 2017 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Wildcats were led by fourth-year head coach Jay Hill and played their games at Stewart Stadium as members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 11–3, 7–1 in Big Sky play to finish in a tie for the Big Sky championship with Southern Utah. Due to their head-to-head loss to Southern Utah in the regular season, they did not receive the Big Sky's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs, but did receive an at-large bid to the FCS Playoffs, their second straight trip to the playoffs. In the first round, they defeated Western Illinois. In the second round, they avenged their regular season loss to Southern Utah. In the quarterfinals, they lost to eventual national runner-up, James Madison.
The 2017–18 Weber State Wildcats women's basketball team represents Weber State University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Wildcats were led by sixth year head coach Bethann Ord and play their home games at the Dee Events Center. They were members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 21–10, 11–7 in Big Sky play to finish in a tie for third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky women's tournament to Idaho State. They were invited to the WBI where they defeated Texas Southern in the first round before losing to Central Arkansas in the quarterfinals.

The Wildcats were led by fourth-year head coach Jay Hill and played their games at Stewart Stadium as members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 10–3, 7–1 in Big Sky play to finish in a three-way tie for the Big Sky championship with Eastern Washington and UC Davis. They received the Big Sky's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs where, after a first round bye, they defeated Southeast Missouri State in the second round before losing in the quarterfinals to Maine.

They received the Big Sky's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs where, after a first round bye, they defeated Kennesaw State in the second round and Montana in the quarterfinals before losing to James Madison in the semifinals.

Weber State received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division I Football Championship playoffs, where they beat Cal Poly in the first round before losing to Montana in the quarterfinals.

The 2022 Weber State Wildcats football team represented Weber State University as a member of the Big Sky Conference during the 2022 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Wildcats were led by ninth-year head coach Jay Hill and played their games at Stewart Stadium in Ogden, Utah. The Wildcats began the regular season ranked number 20 in the FCS rankings. On September 10, the Wildcats defeated the Utah State Aggies, their first win against the Aggies since 1978, and their first win against an FBS opponent since their victory against Nevada in 1993. The Wildcats finished the regular season with a record of 9–2, good enough to qualify for the NCAA Division I FCS Playoffs, their fifth appearance under Jay Hill. The Wildcats defeated North Dakota in the opening round, but were defeated by Montana State the following round. After the season, head coach Jay Hill announced he would step down as Weber State head coach to accept the Defensive Coordinator position at BYU. Offensive coordinator Mickey Mental was announced as Hill's successor.

Led by seventh-year head coach Mike Price and junior quarterback Jeff Carlson, the Wildcats compiled an overall record of 10–3 with a mark of 7–1 in conference play, placing second in the Big Sky behind the conference champion, Idaho. For the first time, Weber State was invited to the NCAA Division I-AA Football Championship playoffs, where they defeated the aforementioned Vandals in the first round before falling in the quarterfinal round to Marshall.
