The 2022 SGI Canada Best of the West was held from April 22 to 24 at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. [1] [2] The newly created event consisted of teams with all players thirty years and younger. It was played between the four provinces of Western Canada, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. All provinces were represented by two teams in each of the three disciplines, men's, women's and doubles. [3]
The Best of the West U30 Championship was played in a round-robin tournament with two pools of four in each of the three disciplines, men's, women's and doubles. The top two teams in each pool at the conclusion of the three game round robin advanced to the semifinal round, with the winners then moving on to the championship game. [4]

The 2004 Nokia Brier, the Canadian men's curling championship was held from March 6 to 14, 2004 at Saskatchewan Place in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. A total of 238,129 attended the event.
The 1997 Scott Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championship, was held from February 22 to March 2, 1997 at the PNE Agrodome in Vancouver, British Columbia. The total attendance for the week was 35,390, which was the lowest since 1990.

For the third consecutive year, the Brier set a then-record as the total attendance for the week was 93,185. This was the first Brier to be sponsored by the Labatt Brewing Company replacing the Macdonald Tobacco Company, who sponsored the Brier since the inaugural event in 1927 as the primary sponsor.

The 2015 Canada Cup of Curling was held from December 3 to 7 at Revolution Place in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This was the first time that Grande Prairie hosted the Canada Cup, and the third time that Alberta hosted the Canada Cup, which was also held in Medicine Hat in 2010 and in Camrose in 2014.
The 2019 Humpty's Champions Cup was held from April 23 to 28 at the Merlis Belsher Place in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It was the eighth and final Grand Slam event of the 2018–19 curling season. In the men's final, Brendan Bottcher defeated Kevin Koe 6–5 to win his 3rd career Grand Slam. In the women's final, Silvana Tirinzoni defeated Kerri Einarson 6–3 to win her 2nd career Slam.
The 2021 Canadian Olympic Curling Pre-Trials were held from October 25 to 31 at the Queens Place Emera Centre in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. The event qualified two teams for the 2021 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

This one time event was used to select Canada's representatives for the 2022 World Junior Curling Championships, as the 2021 Canadian Junior Curling Championships were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2022 Sentinel Storage Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Alberta, was held January 3 to 9 at the Bonnetts Energy Centre in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The winning Laura Walker team represented Alberta at the 2022 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and finished with a 3–5 record. The event was held in conjunction with the 2022 Boston Pizza Cup, the provincial men's curling championship.
The 2022 KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup was held May 3–8 at the Olds Sportsplex in Olds, Alberta. It is the fifth and final Grand Slam event of the 2021–22 curling season.
The 2022 World University Games Qualifier was held from September 22 to 25 at the RA Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. This one-time event was used to select Canada's representatives for the 2023 Winter World University Games, as the 2022 U Sports/Curling Canada University Curling Championships was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The winning team on both the men's and women's sides will represent Canada at the 2023 Winter World University Games.
