The 2022 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup was the fifth edition of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup. [1] The games of the final tournament were held in Singapore between 6 July and 10 July 2022. [2]
The FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup returns for its fifth edition this year and will see 53 teams from 30 countries battling it out to win the trophy. Set to take place from July 6-10 at the event plaza of Marina Bay Sands, the game - with its rising popularity over the years - has reached a significant high in participation numbers. The previous record was set in 2019 with 40 teams from 23 countries.
A total of 30 men’s teams and 23 women’s teams have registered for the number one 3x3 national team competition for teams based in Asia and Oceania. The main draw will start on the third day of competition with the exact same number of teams (12) from each gender.

The Southeast Asia Basketball Association (SEABA) is a subzone of FIBA Asia consisting of countries from Southeast Asia. The ASEAN Basketball League (ABL), a professional league, is the top level of club competition run by the SEABA.

The International Basketball Federation is an association of national organizations which governs the sport of basketball worldwide. 3x3 basketball is a variation of basketball played three-a-side, with one backboard and in a half-court setup. According to an ESSEC Business School study commissioned by the International Olympic Committee, 3x3 is the largest urban team sport in the world. This basketball game format is currently being promoted and structured by FIBA, the sport's governing body. Its primary competition is an annual FIBA 3X3 World Tour, comprising a series of Masters and one Final tournament, and awarding six-figure prize money in US dollars. The FIBA 3x3 World Cups for men and women are the highest tournaments for national 3x3 teams. The 3x3 format has been adopted for both the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Basketball at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan was held from 24 July to 8 August 2021. The basketball competitions were held at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, while the debuting 3x3 competitions were held at the temporary Aomi Urban Sports Park in Tokyo.
The Philippines men's national 3x3 team represents the country in international 3x3 basketball matches and is governed by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
The USA Women's 3x3 Teams are two of the teams under the auspices of the USA Basketball organization. In 2007, FIBA decided to start championships for the 3x3 event, starting in 2010. Two events are held, one for athletes under 18 years of age and one open event. The under 18 event (U18) is held every year, although in every fourth year, starting with 2010, the event is part of the Youth Olympic Games. The open events are held every other year, in even-numbered years, starting in 2012.
The Mongolia men's national 3x3 team is a national basketball team of Mongolia, administered by the Mongolian Basketball Association. It represents the country in international 3x3 basketball competitions.
The women's national 3x3 team of the Philippines represents the country in international 3x3 basketball matches and is controlled by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
Mongolia is participating in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Mongolia made its first appearance at the Asian Games in 1974 Tehran, and have a total 137 medals, including 20 gold, 37 silver, and 80 bronze. At the previous edition in Incheon 2014, Mongolia had collected 21 medals, and standing in the 16th position in medals tally.
The Kyrgyzstan competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Kyrgyzstan made its first appearance at the Asian Games in 1994 Hiroshima, and the best achievement was in the 2002 Busan, with a gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze medals. At the last edition in Incheon, Kyrgyzstan managed to claim 2 silver and 4 bronze medals.
Iraq participated in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Iraq first competed at the Asian Games in 1974 Tehran, and the best achievement was in 1982 Delhi, when the country was ranked 11th with a total 9 medals, 2 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals. At the last edition in Incheon, Iraq had collected 4 medals, and was ranked 25th in medals tally.
The 2021 FIBA Women's Asia Cup Division A was the 29th edition of the tournament, held from 27 September to 3 October 2021 in Amman, Jordan. The tournament was originally set to be hosted by India. It served as the Asian and Oceanian qualification for the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Australia, where the top four teams qualified for one of the qualifying tournaments.
The 2019 FIBA 3x3 U18 Africa Cup is the inaugural edition of the FIBA 3x3 U18 Africa Cup. It is the first-ever U18 national team competition for 3x3 in Africa. The game took place at the Lugogo Hockey Pitch in Kampala, Uganda on November 8-10. Eight men's and eight women's teams participated.
The 2022 FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup was the seventh edition of the 3x3 Europe Cup that featured separate competitions for men's and women's national teams. It was held between 9 and 11 September 2022 in Graz, Austria.
