The 2022 Hamburg Sea Devils season is the second season of the Hamburg Sea Devils team in the European League of Football.
On November 24, 2021, the Hamburg Sea Devils began to announce their first player signings, beginning with their running back Glen Toonga. [1] The head coach and offensive coordinator Andreas Nommensen stated in December 2021 that he won't return for the 2022 season due to personal reasons. [2] On February 3, 2022, Charles "Yogi" Jones was officially announced as the new head coach for the season. [3] [4]

The European League of Football (ELF) is a professional American football league. The league consists of 17 teams located in Germany, Poland, Spain, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic and France, with plans to expand to 24 teams in 2024. The new league was officially created in November 2020, and kicked off on 19 June 2021.
The 2021 ELF season was the inaugural season of the European League of Football, a newly formed professional American football league based in Europe. It started on June 19, 2021, and ended with a Championship Game in Düsseldorf's Merkur Spiel-Arena, on September 26, 2021.

The 2021 Hamburg Sea Devils season was the first season of the new Hamburg Sea Devils team in the inaugural season of the European League of Football. After winning the first ever match of the new ELF against Frankfurt Galaxy on a last second Phillip Friis Andersen Field Goal, the team went on to post a 7–3 record, winning their North Division and beating the Wroclaw Panthers in the playoffs before going on to lose the inaugural Championship Game to the Frankfurt Galaxy by a score of 32–30.

After losing the season opener to the Hamburg Sea Devils on a last second Phillip Friis Andersen Field Goal, the team proceeded to win all remaining games, to win their ELF South Division, beating the Cologne Centurions in the playoffs and ultimately winning the inaugural Championship Game at Merkur Spiel-Arena, Düsseldorf against the Hamburg Sea Devils on September 26, 2021.
