The 2022 LIU Sharks men's volleyball team, the first ever LIU men's volleyball team, [1] represented Long Island University Brooklyn in the 2022 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Sharks, led by first year head coach Shawn Patchell, [2] played their home games at Steinberg Wellness Center. The Sharks competed as an Independent. However the Sharks will join the newly created Northeast Conference men's volleyball conference in 2023. [3] After a slow start LIU won 9 of their final 10 games to finish a respectable 13–15.

The Northeast Conference (NEC) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools are members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Teams in the NEC compete in Division I for all sports; football competes in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Participating schools are located principally in the Northeastern United States, from which the conference derives its name.
The East Coast Conference (ECC) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level. Member institutions are located primarily in the state of New York, with a single member located in the District of Columbia.
The 2020 BYU Cougars men's volleyball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2020 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Cougars, led by fifth year head coach Shawn Olmstead, played their home games at Smith Fieldhouse. The Cougars are members of the MPSF and were picked to win the MPSF in the preseason poll. On March 12 the NCAA, BYU, and the MPSF shutdown the remainder of the season due to COVID-19, leaving BYU to end the season ranked #1 and undefeated in conference play.
The 2021 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors volleyball team represented the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UH) in the 2021 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Rainbow Warriors, led by 12th-year head coach Charlie Wade, played home games at Stan Sheriff Center on the UH campus in the Honolulu neighborhood of Mānoa. The Rainbow Warriors, members of the Big West Conference, were picked by Big West coaches to win the conference in its preseason poll. After a late start was announced, Hawaii went undefeated in conference play. The Rainbow Warriors suffered their first and only setback in the semifinals of the Big West Tournament, forcing them to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Despite the setback, Hawai'i received the #1 seed in the national tournament and went on to win the National Championship with straight set wins over UC Santa Barbara in the semifinals and BYU in the national championship. The national championship is Hawai'i's first men's volleyball national championship after they had to vacate the 2002 national championship.

The 2022 Harvard Crimson men's volleyball team represents Harvard University in the 2022 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Crimson, led by 12th year head coach Brian Baise, play their home games at Malkin Athletic Center. The Crimson are members of the EIVA and return to play after missing the 2021 season due to the corona virus cancelled Ivy League seasons. They were picked to finish sixth in the EIVA preseason poll.
The 2022 Lewis Flyers men's volleyball team represented Lewis University in the 2022 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Flyers, led by eighteenth year head coach Dan Friend, played their home games at Neil Carey Arena. The Flyers were members of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association and were picked to finish second the MIVA in the preseason poll behind Loyola Chicago. The Flyers ended the season fourth in the MIVA, holding a 2–0 record against Ohio State as the tiebreaker, and lost in the MIVA Semifinals.
The 2022 Loyola Ramblers men's volleyball team represents Loyola University Chicago in the 2022 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Ramblers, led by 7th year head coach Mark Hulse, play their home games at Joseph J. Gentile Arena. The Cardinals are members of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association and were picked to win the conference title in the MIVA in the preseason poll.
The 2022 Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons men's volleyball team represents Purdue University Fort Wayne in the 2022 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Mastodons, led by seventh year head coach Ryan Perrotte, play their home games at Hilliard Gates Sports Center. The Mastodons are members of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association and were picked to finish sixth in the MIVA in the preseason poll.
The 2022 Independent Volleyball Association Tournament was a men's volleyball tournament held by select Independent Universities during the 2022 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. It was held April 22 through April 23, 2022 at Queens University of Charlotte's Curry Arena at the Levine Center. The winner was eligible for one of the two wildcard spots in the 2022 NCAA Volleyball Tournament and was granted the title of Independent Volleyball Association Champion.
The 2023 LIU Sharks men's volleyball team, the second LIU men's volleyball team, represents Long Island University Brooklyn in the 2023 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Sharks, led by first year head coach Kai Dugquem, play their home games at Steinberg Wellness Center. The Sharks compete as a member of the newly created Northeast Conference men's volleyball conference. After winning most of their games at the end of last season, the Sharks were picked to finish third in the NEC.
The 2023 Merrimack Warriors men's volleyball team, the first ever Merrimack men's volleyball team, represents Merrimack College in the 2023 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Warriors, led by first year head coach Ray Lewis, play their home games at Hammel Court. The Warriors play in the newly created Northeast Conference men's volleyball conference. They were picked to finish seventh in the conference preseason poll.
The 2023 D'Youville Saints men's volleyball team represents D'Youville University in the 2023 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Saints are led by fourth year head coach Chris Krueger and play their home games at College Center Gymnasium. The Saints compete as a member of the newly created Northeast Conference men's volleyball conference and were picked to finish eighth in the NEC.
The 2023 Fairleigh Dickinson Knights men's volleyball team, the second Fairleigh Dickinson men's volleyball team, represents Fairleigh Dickinson University in the 2023 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Knights, led by second year head coach Karl France, play their home games at Rothman Center. The Knights compete as a member of the newly created Northeast Conference men's volleyball conference. The Knights were picked to finish sixth in the NEC pre-season poll.
