The 2022 Summit League women's soccer season started non-conference play on August 10, 2022, and began conference play on September 23, 2022. The regular season ended on October 23, 2022. The Summit League tournament began on October 28, 2022 and ended on November 5, 2022 with Omaha winning the championship game in penalties. The Mavericks then went on to the NCAA tournament and lost to Notre Dame. [1] [2]

Following last year's tournament, the conference announced that the 2022 tournament would expand to six teams.

Oral Roberts

On November 4, 2021, Oral Roberts head coach Roger Bush resigned and was replaced on December 10, 2021 by coach Austin Risenhoover.

Western Illinois

On February 15, 2022, Western Illinois announced Josee Primeau was promoted to head coach from her previous role within Dr. Eric Johnson's staff, the previous coach.

The 2017–18 South Dakota State Jackrabbits men's basketball team represented South Dakota State University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Jackrabbits, led by second-year head coach T. J. Otzelberger, played their home games at Frost Arena in Brookings, South Dakota as members of the Summit League. They finished the season 28–7, 13–1 in Summit League play to win the Summit League regular season championship. In the Summit League tournament, they defeated Western Illinois, North Dakota State, and South Dakota to become Summit League Tournament champions. They received the Summit League's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the first round to Ohio State.

The three-match tournament took place at Fishback Soccer Park in Brookings, South Dakota. The four-team single-elimination tournament consisted of two rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Denver Pioneers were the defending champions, and successfully defended their title with a 4–0 victory over the Omaha Mavericks in the final. The win earned Denver the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The tournament win was Denver's third as a member of the conference, all of which have come under coach Jeff Hooker.

The 2022 North Dakota State Bison women's soccer team represented North Dakota State University during the 2022 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. The Bison play in the Summit League.
NDSU made the Summit League tournament as the fifth seed. They lost to Oral Roberts in the quarterfinals to be eliminated from contention. The Bison finished the season with an 8–9–3 record and a 4–5–0 Summit League record, good for fifth in the conference.

The 2020 Summit League women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Summit League held on April 15 and 17, 2021. It was played in the spring of 2021 along with the conference season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The three-match tournament took place at Caniglia Field in Omaha, Nebraska. The four-team single elimination tournament consisted of two rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. South Dakota State was the defending champion, and were unable to defend their title, losing to Omaha in the semifinal game in penalties. Denver won the championship game over Omaha, which was their fourth since entering the conference and also for coach Jeff Hooker. Denver has now won or participated in the championship game in the last four tournaments.

The 2022-23 Summit League men's basketball season started non-conference play on November 7, 2022, and began conference play on December 19, 2022. The regular season will end on February 25, 2023, and will set up the 2023 Summit League men's basketball tournament from March 3 to March 7, 2023.
Oral Roberts finished league play with a perfect 18-0 record, the second time that has happened in the Summit League's history and second year in a row a team has finished with a perfect league record . In the postseason, Oral Roberts made the 2023 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament as a 12 seed. They lost to Duke in the first round.

The 2023 North Dakota State Bison women's soccer team represented North Dakota State University during the 2023 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. The Bison were led by sixth-year head coach Mike Regan, and played their home games at Dacotah Field in Fargo, North Dakota.
The Bison finished the year with a 5–6–6 overall record and a 1–3–4 conference record good enough to finish just outside the 6-team Summit League tournament field.

The five match tournament took place at various campus sites. The six-team single elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Omaha Mavericks were the defending champions and were defeated by South Dakota State in the tournament final. South Dakota State won the tournament and earned the Summit League's automatic berth into the 2023 NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament. This win was the Jackrabbits' seventh tournament title.
