The 2022 UAE Super Cup was the 15th professional and 21st overall UAE Super Cup, an annual football match played between the winners of the previous season's League and President's Cup. It will be contested between the league champions Al Ain and president's cup winner Sharjah. [1] Sharjah won their third super cup title after Kodjo Laba's own goal in the 29th minute costed Al Ain the match. [2] [3]

The UAE Super Cup, is the curtain raiser of the United Arab Emirates football season. It is played between the previous season's Pro-League winners and President's Cup Winners. The first edition was played on 14 September 2008.

The 2020–21 UAE Pro League was the 46th edition of the UAE Pro League following the cancellation of the previous season, no team changes occurred due to the previous season declared as void in UAE football. Despite starting the season with rough results, Al Jazira went on to win their third league title while Baniyas finished second, coincidentally, both teams finished in the same positions ten years ago in the 2010–11 season.

The 2021–22 UAE Pro League will be the 47th edition of the UAE Pro League. Al Jazira are the defending champions after clinching their third title in the final day of last season. Al Ain would win its fourteenth title after beating the defending champions Al Jazira 5–0 the eleventh of May.

The 2021–22 UAE President's Cup was the 45th edition of the UAE President's Cup, Shabab Al Ahli were the defending champions after winning the last season's President's Cup, but were knocked out in the quarter-finals by eventual champions Sharjah.

The 2015–16 season was Al Ain Football Club's 42rd in existence and the club's 40st consecutive season in the top-level football league in the UAE.

It was played between Al Jazira who won the league on the final day of the season and Shabab Al Ahli who defeated Al Nasr in the President's cup final. Al Jazira would win their first super cup title after beating Shabab Al Ahli 5–3 on penalty shootouts.

The 1979 UAE President's Cup Final was the third final of the UAE President's Cup, the Emirati football cup competition. The match was contested by Sharjah and Al Ain. Sharjah was awarded the trophy for the first time after defeating Al Ain on the penalties, after 2-2.
