Elections for the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna were held on 20 March 2022 where all 20 seats were up for election. [1]
The 2017 Wallis and Futuna Territorial Assembly election saw 19 electoral lists sharing the 20 seats of the Territorial Assembly. The only list able to gain two seats was Fakatahi kihe kaha'u e lelei / Ensemble pour un avenir meilleur (Together for a Better Future). There were nine newly elected members in the 20-seat Assembly. Among the elected members, six were women. [2]
The 2017 elections were noted for their very high participation, one of the highest in the recent history of Wallis and Futuna. Slightly more than 88% of the electorate voted, with voter turnout at 87% on Wallis and 93% on Futuna. [3]
Half the seats were won by new members. [4] Turnout was over 84 percent. [4]

On 15 November 2022 the Council of State cancelled the result of the elections in Sigave, due to irregularities noted during the vote. There are new elections on 5 February 2023.

Wallis and Futuna, officially the Territory of the Wallis and Futuna Islands, is a French island collectivity in the South Pacific, situated between Tuvalu to the northwest, Fiji to the southwest, Tonga to the southeast, Samoa to the east, and Tokelau to the northeast.
Politics of Wallis and Futuna takes place in a framework of a parliamentary representative democratic French overseas collectivity, whereby the President of the Territorial Assembly is the head of government, and of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government.
The Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna is the legislature of Wallis and Futuna. It consists of 20 members, elected for a five-year term by proportional representation in multi-seat constituencies. The Assembly sits in Mata Utu, the capital of the territory.
The constituency of Wallis and Futuna is a French legislative constituency covering the whole of the overseas collectivity of Wallis and Futuna. It is represented in the XVIth legislature by Mikaele Seo of Renaissance who defeated fellow centrist Etuato Mulikihaamea in the 2022 election.
Overseas France consists of 13 French territories outside Europe, mostly the remnants of the French colonial empire that remained a part of the French state under various statuses after decolonisation. Most, but not all are part of the European Union.
Territorial Assembly elections were held in Wallis and Futuna on 25 March 2012. Thirty party lists contested to fill the twenty seats. The major election issues were the cost of living, economic development, and wallis and Futuna's relationship with France. Turnout was 85.95%.

Nivaleta Iloai was a politician from Wallis and Futuna. She served as the first female president of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna from April 1 to December 11, 2013, as well as November 26, 2020 to March 25, 2022.
A by-election was held in Wallis and Futuna's 1st constituency on 15 April 2018. The by-election was called after the Constitutional Council invalidated the election of Napole Polutele, miscellaneous left candidate in the June 2017 legislative elections and member of the UDI, Agir and Independents group in the National Assembly, on 2 February 2018. Sylvain Brial defeated outgoing deputy Polutele in the first round of the by-election on 15 April.
The COVID-19 pandemic in the Wallis and Futuna is part of the ongoing worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. The COVID-19 pandemic was confirmed to have reached the French overseas collectivity of Wallis and Futuna on 16 October 2020. As of 24 August 2021, there have been 454 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 7 deaths reported to WHO. The last reported confirmed case was reported in April 2021.

Petelo Hanisi is a Wallisian politician and former member of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna. He was president of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna from 2013 to 2014.
David Vergé is a Wallisian politician. He represented Wallis and Futuna in the French National Assembly from 2012 to 2013 and was president of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna from 2017 to 2019.
Sosefo Suve is a Wallisian politician and member of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna. He was President of the Territorial Assembly from 2012 to 2013.
Victor Brial is a Wallisian politician. He represented Wallis and Futuna in the French National Assembly from 1997 to 2007 and was president of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna twice, first from 1997 to 1999, and again from 2007 to 2010.
Mireille Laufilitoga is a politician from Wallis and Futuna. She became a member of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna in 2012, serving as president of the Permanent Committee from 2017 to 2022. An independent, she represented the Mua District until 2022.
