The 2022–23 Pilipinas Super League DUMPER Cup was the second tournament of the Pilipinas Super League (PSL) Pro Division. The regular season began on November 23, 2022, and ended on March 11, 2023. The playoffs then began on March 13, 2023, and ended on March 30, 2023. [1] The entire tournament is sponsored by the DUMPER Partylist, hence the name.
The 2023 PSL All-Star Game took place on March 18, 2023 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
The San Juan Kings finished the regular season with the first undefeated record in PSL history. Despite that, it was the Pampanga G Lanterns who were the champions of the tournament, earning their first league championship in franchise history. The G Lanterns defeated the defending champion Davao Occidental Tigers in two games in the Finals. Justine Baltazar was named as the Finals MVP. [2]

The regular season began on November 23, 2022.
All participating teams played in a single round-robin format, unlike the double round-robin in the previous season. The top eight teams advance to a three-round, single-elimination playoff bracket. In the quarterfinals, the higher-seeded team is given twice-to-beat advantage. The semifinals and finals use standard best-of-three series.

The PSL held its first ever All-Star Game on March 18, 2023 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga. There were two teams, the Luzon All-Stars and the VisMin All-Stars. The team each all-star is placed is based on where the player is based in and not the team itself. Twelve players were placed in each team alongside one guest player.
The game ended in a tie, with both teams scoring 123 points each. Gabby Espinas of the Luzon All-Stars and Orlan Wamar Jr. of the VisMin All-Stars were declared co-MVPs.

The league feted its Mythical Team aptly called the "Super Five" at halftime of Game 1 of the Finals series on March 28, 2023 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga. [3] The Most Valuable Player and Finals Most Valuable Player were handed out later at halftime and at the conclusion respectively of Game 2 of the Finals. [4]

Joseller "Yeng" Medina Guiao is a Filipino professional basketball head coach, politician, commentator and sports commissioner. He is currently the head coach of the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters of the Philippine Basketball Association. He previously served as the interim head coach of the Philippine national team. Guiao won seven PBA titles since starting his head coaching job for Swift in the early 1990s. He is a former Philippine Basketball League commissioner from 1997 to 2000. He was also the Vice Governor of the Province of Pampanga from 2004 to 2013, serving three different Governors, Mark Lapid, Eddie Panlilio and Lilia Pineda. He is a former congressman, representing the 1st District of Pampanga from 2013 to 2016.

The 2020–21 MPBL playoffs, originally billed as the 2020 MPBL playoffs and also known as the MPBL Lakan Cup Playoffs, was the postseason tournament of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League's 2019–20 season, the league's third overall, and the second under the 16-team format. The postseason tournament began on February 15, 2020 and concluded on March 21, 2021, after the fourth game of the 2021 MPBL Finals. The league suspended all the playoffs due to the COVID-19 outbreak in March 12, 2020. After a year of stoppage of play, the league got an approval from the IATF-EID and resumed the playoffs on March 10, 2021, inside a bubble hosted by Subic.

The 2023 MPBL season was the fifth season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and the second as a professional league. The regular season began on March 11, 2023 and was originally scheduled to end on September 30, 2023, but got postponed to October 3, 2023. The playoffs began on October 6, 2023 and ended on December 2, 2023, when the Pampanga Giant Lanterns defeated the Bacoor City Strikers in three games in the 2023 MPBL Finals. This season featured 29 teams, which included two expansion teams: the Negros Muscovados and the Quezon Huskers.
The 2023 MPBL Finals was the championship series of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League's (MPBL) 2023 season and the conclusion of the season's playoffs. In the best-of-five playoff, the North Division champion Pampanga Giant Lanterns faced the South Division champion Bacoor City Strikers, with both teams having not won an MPBL title nor appeared in the MPBL Finals before, this series would determine which team becomes the league's fifth different champions. The series began on November 25, 2023 and ended on December 2, 2023.
The 2024 MPBL Preseason Invitational was the preseason pocket tournament for the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League's 2024 season and the third edition of the MPBL Invitational. The tournament began on February 21, 2024 and ended with the final game on February 27, 2024. The rivalry between the Davao Occidental Tigers and San Juan Knights has stretched across multiple leagues in the Philippines, most prominently in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, where the two teams met in the National Finals twice in back-to-back seasons. Although Davao Occidental has since left the MPBL, the two teams still compete in other leagues such as FilBasket and the Pilipinas Super League.
