The 2023 BYU Cougars women's volleyball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2023 NCAA Division I women's volleyball season. The Cougars are led by ninth year head coach Heather Olmstead and played their home games at the Smith Fieldhouse. The Cougars were competing as members of the Big 12 Conference for the first time. BYU comes off a season where they finished second in the WCC regular after suffering two conference losses to the San Diego Toreros, a team who eventually lost in the Final Four. The Cougars received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament falling to Pitt in the second round. The Cougars came in having been picked to finish second in the Big 12 behind defending national champ Texas. [4]
Two Cougars were selected to the Pre-season All-Big 12 team: Super Senior setter Whitney Bower and senior outside hitter Erin Livingston. The two selections were tied for second most in the Big 12 behind only Texas (4). [5]

They reached the NCAA National Championship for the second year in a row before being swept by Ohio State. The Cougars finished the year ranked #2 in the nation.

The Cougars were coached for a 25th consecutive season by Jennifer Rockwood, who was co-coach in 1995 and became the solo head coach in 1996. Before 1995 BYU women's soccer competed as a club team and not as a member of the NCAA. Overall the Cougars had made the NCAA tournament in 19 of the 24 seasons that Rockwood had been the head coach. Joining Rockwood as assistant coaches were Brent Anderson and Steve Magleby with volunteer assistants Rachel Jorgensen and McKinzie Young. The Cougars came off of a season where they were first in the WCC and went 13–5–1, 8–1–0 in the WCC. The Cougars were picked to finish as co-champs by the WCC media.

The 2022 BYU Cougars women's soccer team represented Brigham Young University during the 2022 NCAA Division I women's soccer season. The Cougars were coached for a 28th consecutive season by Jennifer Rockwood, who was co-coach in 1995 and became the solo head coach in 1996. Before 1995 BYU women's soccer competed as a club team and not as a member of the NCAA. Overall the Cougars had made the NCAA tournament in 22 of the 27 seasons that Rockwood had been the head coach. Joining Rockwood as assistant coaches are Brent Anderson and Steve Magleby with volunteer assistants Rachel Jorgensen and Madie Gates. The Cougars came off of a season where they were co-champions in the WCC and went 17–4–3, 8–1–0 in the WCC. The Cougars went on to advance to their first ever College Cup, and tied in the championship with Florida State before losing on penalties to finish as national runner–up. The Cougars staff was also named the Women's Staff of the Year. The Cougars enter 2022 having been picked to win the WCC Championship in their final season before heading to the Big 12 Conference for the 2023 season.

The 2023 Fairleigh Dickinson Knights men's volleyball team, the second Fairleigh Dickinson men's volleyball team, represents Fairleigh Dickinson University in the 2023 NCAA Division I & II men's volleyball season. The Knights, led by second year head coach Karl France, play their home games at Rothman Center. The Knights compete as a member of the newly created Northeast Conference men's volleyball conference. The Knights were picked to finish sixth in the NEC pre-season poll.
