The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) is a college athletic conference with members located mostly in the Western United States, although it has added members as far east as Pennsylvania. The conference participates at the NCAA Division I level, primarily in Olympic sports that are not sponsored by a school's primary conference.
The Big West Conference (BWC) is an American collegiate athletic conference whose member institutions participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The conference was originally formed on July 1, 1969, as the Pacific Coast Athletic Association (PCAA), and in 1988 was renamed the Big West Conference. The conference stopped sponsoring college football after the 2000 season.

The San Diego State Aztecs are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent San Diego State University (SDSU). The Aztecs compete in NCAA Division I (FBS) as a member of the Mountain West Conference (MW); they will become a member of the Pac-12 Conference in 2026. The team's home venue is Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark located on campus in Irvine, California. UC Irvine baseball has been a member of the NCAA Division I Big West Conference since the start of the 2002 season which was the Anteaters' first season of play following the university's decision to revive its baseball program following the sport's discontinuation in 1992.

UC Irvine plays their home matches at Anteater Stadium.
The 2007 NCAA men's volleyball tournament was the 38th annual tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA men's collegiate indoor volleyball. The single elimination tournament was played at St. John Arena in Columbus, Ohio during May 2007.
The Loyola Ramblers men's volleyball team represents Loyola University Chicago in NCAA competition as a member of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA), one of the seven conferences that compete at the National Collegiate level of NCAA men's volleyball. The Ramblers are coached by Shane Davis, who returned as head coach in 2024, after spending the previous eight seasons as the head coach of the Northwestern University women’s volleyball team. Davis previously coached the Ramblers from 2003 to 2015. Davis’ overall record as Loyola head coach through 12 seasons is 265-88 (.751), and he led the Ramblers to back-to-back NCAA championships in 2014 and 2015.
The UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs are the athletic teams that represent the University of California, Santa Cruz. The Banana Slugs compete in Division III of the NCAA, mostly in the Coast to Coast Athletic Conference (C2C). There are fifteen varsity sports – men's and women's basketball, tennis, soccer, volleyball, swimming and diving, cross country, track & field, and women's golf. UCSC teams have been Division III nationally ranked in tennis, soccer, men's volleyball, and swimming. UCSC maintains a number of successful club sides.
