The Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF) is a film festival held annually in Calgary, Alberta, in late September and early October.
The Cairo International Film Festival is an annual internationally accredited film festival held in Cairo Opera House. The Perfect Story is a 2022 Canadian documentary film, directed by Michelle Shephard. Revisiting her 2010 news story about young Somali man Ismael Abdulle, who had his hand and foot amputated by Al-Shabaab militants before Shephard's reportage sparked a campaign to get him transported to another country as a refugee, the film depicts and explores the ethical dilemmas faced by Shephard when Abdulle later revealed that he had lied to her about key details of the incident, and was in fact guilty of attempted theft as Al-Shabaab had claimed.

The Last Repair Shop is a 2023 American short documentary film directed by Ben Proudfoot and Kris Bowers. Produced by Breakwater Studios, the film had its premiere on September 1, 2023 at the 50th Telluride Film Festival. On March 10, 2024, it won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Film at the 96th Academy Awards.
