The 2023 Richmond Spiders football team represented the University of Richmond as a member of Coastal Athletic Association Football Conference (CAA) in the 2023 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Spiders were led by seventh-year head coach Russ Huesman and played their home games at E. Claiborne Robins Stadium in Richmond, Virginia.

The CAA, formerly known as the Colonial Athletic Association from 2007 through 2022, changed its name in July 2023 to accommodate future membership expansion outside of the Thirteen Colonies.

In the CAA preseason poll released on July 25, 2023, the Spiders were predicted to finish in third place out of 15 teams following the addition of Campbell and North Carolina A&T for the 2023 season. [1] [2]

The 2010 campaign came on the heels of an NCAA Division I FCS national championship in 2008 and a quarterfinal appearance in 2009.

The 2011–12 VCU Rams men's basketball team represented Virginia Commonwealth University during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was the 44th season of the University fielding a men's basketball program. Led by third-year head coach Shaka Smart, the Rams were coming off a season marked by a run to the Final Four. Expected to finish lower in the CAA regular season standings, the Rams finished as regular season runners-up with a 15–3 conference record, before winning the 2012 CAA Men's Basketball Championship against Drexel, 59–56, earning their 11th ever berth into the NCAA Tournament. It was also the first season since 1984–85 that the Rams consecutively qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

The 2012 Richmond Spiders football team represented the University of Richmond in the 2012 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by first-year head coach Danny Rocco and played their home games at E. Claiborne Robins Stadium. They were a member of the Colonial Athletic Association. They finished the season 8–3, 6–2 in CAA. Due to Old Dominion being ineligible for the conference title, the Spiders claimed a four way share of the CAA title. Despite the conference title, the Spiders were not invited to the FCS playoffs.

The team played home games at Delaware Stadium in Newark, Delaware.
