The 2024 Hy-Vee IndyCar Race Weekend was a pair of IndyCar motor races held on July 13, 2024, and July 14, 2024, at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. They will be the 10th and 11th rounds of the 2024 IndyCar season. The race weekend has been held since 2007, except for a brief hiatus in 2021 after a change of focus by the owner of the track.
The first race (officially the Hy-Vee Homefront 250 presented by Instacart) was held on July 13, 2024, with the second (officially the Hy-Vee One Step 250 presented by Gatorade) was held on July 14, 2024. Each race was contested of 250 laps. The first race was won by Scott McLaughlin and the second race was won by Will Power.

Both the Saturday and Sunday races were scheduled to air on NBC and Peacock. However, due to coverage of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, the Saturday race was moved to CNBC; Peacock still streamed the race. This is the last Iowa double-header on NBC, as the 2025 edition will air on Fox as part of their new IndyCar deal. [3]
Hy-Vee, Inc. is an employee-owned chain of supermarkets in the Midwestern and Southern United States, with more than 280 locations in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wisconsin, with stores planned in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama. Hy-Vee was founded in 1930 by Charles Hyde and David Vredenburg in Beaconsfield, Iowa, in a small brick building known as the Beaconsfield Supply Store, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Iowa Speedway is a 7⁄8 mile (1.4 km) oval short track in Newton, Iowa. Since its inaugural season of racing in 2006, the track has hosted a variety of racing events, including events sanctioned by NASCAR and IndyCar. NASCAR has owned the facility since 2013, with Eric Peterson currently serving as the track's president. Iowa Speedway is served by Interstate 80.

The Hy-Vee PERKS 250 is a 250-lap, 218.75-mile NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. The race has been held in May or June from 2011 to 2019 and was going to be held again in 2020 before being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The race was removed from the Xfinity Series schedule entirely in 2021. The race returned to the schedule in 2024.

Patricio "Pato" O'Ward Junco is a Mexican professional auto racing driver who competes full-time in the IndyCar Series, driving the No. 5 Chevrolet for Arrow McLaren. He is the 2018 Indy Lights champion. He is signed to the McLaren Driver Development Programme and is McLaren's reserve driver for the 2024 Formula One season.

The race was originally scheduled as a single race for July 18 for 300 laps, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic an additional race had to be added due to cancellations of other races so IndyCar officials made the weekend a doubleheader & shortened each race to 250 laps.
