The 2023 Hy-Vee IndyCar Race Weekend was a pair of IndyCar motor races held on July 22, 2023, and July 23, 2023, at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. They were the 11th and 12th rounds of the 2023 IndyCar season. The race weekend has been held since 2007, except for a brief hiatus in 2021 after a change of focus by the owner of the track.
The first race (officially the Hy-Vee Homefront 250 presented by Instacart) was held on July 22, 2023, with the second (officially the Hy-Vee One Step 250 presented by Gatorade) being held on July 23, 2023. Each race consisted of 250 laps and were both won by Josef Newgarden.
Each race was accompanied with concerts before and after it with Carrie Underwood and Kenny Chesney performing on Saturday, and Zac Brown Band and Ed Sheeran performing on Sunday. [1]

Qualifying for Race 1 was scheduled to start at 9:30 AM ET on July 22, 2023 however a downpour hit the track just before qualifying was due to start, resulting in a delayed start of almost two hours. Each entrant turned two consecutive laps, with their first lap time counting towards Race 1 qualifying.

Iowa Speedway is a 7/8-mile (1.4 km) paved oval motor racing track in Newton, Iowa, approximately 30-mile (48 km) east of Des Moines. It has over 25,000 permanent seats as well as a unique multi-tiered RV viewing area along the backstretch. The premiere event of the track is the Hy-Vee IndyCar Race Weekend held yearly in July since its inaugural running in 2007.
The Hy-Vee Homefront 250 presented by Instacart and Hy-Vee One Step 250 presented by Gatorade are IndyCar Series races held at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. The first event was held in 2007. From 2007 to 2013, it was a 250-lap race; beginning in 2014, the race was increased to 300 laps. For 2020, the race reverted to 250 laps, with consecutive 250-lap races on Friday and Saturday night. After being left off of the calendar for 2021, it returned to the 2022 schedule with the 250/300 format held in years previous.
The 2020 Iowa IndyCar 250s was an IndyCar Series event that took place from July 17–18, 2020. It made up the fifth and sixth rounds of the series' 2020 season. The race was originally scheduled as a single race for July 18 for 300 laps, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic an additional race had to be added due to cancellations of other races so IndyCar officials made the weekend a doubleheader & shortened each race to 250 laps. The race was also the second event of the 2020 season to allow spectators at the track, however there were restrictions regarding attendance.
