The 25th Awit Awards were held on November 27, 2012, at the Glorietta located in Ayala Center, Makati. They gave excellence to the best of Filipino music for the year 2011. [1] [2] [3]

Contents

Jonathan Ong led the nominations with seven. He was followed by Noel Cabangon, Ebe Dancel and Jonathan Manalo, each receiving five nominations.

The awards ceremony was hosted by Denise Laurel, Krista Kleiner and the twins Anthony and David Semerad. [4] Jonathan Ong took home most of the awards with three. [5] Special citation was given to Jose Mari Chan for being the first Filipino artist to receive a tribute album created by foreign artists. [6] The album was known as The Manhattan Connection, The Songs of Jose Mari Chan by the American vocal group, The Manhattan Transfer. Special citations were also given to Ronnie Ricketts, the Optical Media Board chairman and James Dy for their campaign against piracy. [7]

Paolo Giovanni Plaza Onesa is a Filipino singer and songwriter. He began his career as a contestant in first season of The Voice of the Philippines with a live performance of the James Bond film song "Skyfall" that went viral on youtube and earned him a record deal with MCA Music, a Universal Music label. Onesa advanced to the semi-finals under Bamboo Mañalac's team.

<i>One Music PH</i> Filipino music website

One Music Philippines is a Filipino online music hub owned by ABS-CBN Corporation under the media conglomerate's ABS-CBN Music Ecosystem. One Music PH's website went live in November 2015, but the brand was officially launched on noontime musical variety show ASAP on June 3, 2016 with performances from Yeng Constantino, Ylona Garcia, Erik Santos, and Jed Madela among others.

"Wag Ka Nang Umiyak" is a song originally recorded by Filipino pop rock band Sugarfree for the band's third studio album Tala-Arawan. It was released in 2007, through EMI Philippines.
