The 26th Lima Film Festival, organized by the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, took place from 4 to 12 August 2022 in Lima, Peru. [1] The awards were announced on 12 August 2022, with Dusk Stone winning the Trophy Spondylus. [2]
On July 6, 2023, the Lima Film Festival officially announced its 26th edition under the motto "#CinemaBringsUsTogether" (Spanish : #ElCineNosReúne). The festival was held from August 4 to 12, 2022, with in-person and virtual screenings. Organized by the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and presented by the BBVA Foundation in Peru, the Ministry of Culture of Peru, the Gran Teatro Nacional del Perú, the event aimed to celebrate the vibrant world of cinema in the Lima capital. The full schedule and ticket sales were made available as of July 25, 2022. [3] In June 2023, tributes to the careers of actresses Yvonne Frayssinet and Mercedes Morán, along with sound technician Francisco Adrianzén, were announced. [1]
The documentary film La danza de los Mirlos by Álvaro Luque opened the festival as the opening film, screened out of competition. Following the screening, the band performed a live concert for the audience at the Gran Teatro Nacional. [4]

The Lima Film Festival is a film festival held annually by the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). Its original name was Festival Elcine. The official name has been Festival of Lima, Encuentro Latinoamericano de Cine since 2007.
The Ibero-American Festival of Short films ABC (FIBABC) (Spanish: Festival Iberoamericano de Cortometrajes ABC (FIBABC)) has its origins in the 2009 when the journalists and film makers, helmed by Pedro Touceda Fernandez and supported by the Spanish ABC with the Community of Madrid and Spanish Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences (AACCE) set up an international cinematographic festival of short films. The FIBABC takes place every year between 5 September – 25 November.
Willaq Pirqa, the Cinema of My Village is a 2022 Peruvian-Bolivian Quechua-language comedy-drama film directed by César Galindo and written by Galindo, Augusto Cabada and Gastón Vizcarra. It tells the story of Sistu, a 13-year-old boy who lives in a community in Cusco, he discovers the magic of cinema, but the language barrier prevents the villagers from enjoying the movies.

Tayta Shanti is a 2023 Peruvian drama film directed, written and edited by Hans Matos Camac. It is about Angie and her cousin Marcelo who must face their own identity: she struggling to accept her ethnicity and he struggling to accept his true sexuality.

It stars Rafaella Mey and Micaela Céspedes accompanied by María del Carmen Gutiérrez, Wendy Vásquez, Renato Rueda, César Ritter, Beto Benites and Laynol Zavaleta. It is about a 15-year-old teenager who explores her sexuality through an online dating program.
