2 Puerto Ricans, a Blackman and a Dominican was a short-lived house music group featuring David Morales and Robert Clivillés (Puerto Ricans), David Cole (Black), and Chep Nuñez (Dominican [1] ). [2] In 1987, it scored a hit in dance clubs with its debut song, "Do It Properly," the only release on Grooveline Records. [2] The track was inspired by Cole and Bruce Forest's DJ sets at New York club Better Days, where they would mix Adonis' "No Way Back" with scratching, other songs and samples. [3] The single was released in the UK on the London Records label; it entered the UK singles chart on 13 June 1987, and reached a peak of number 47, remaining in the chart for 4 weeks. [4] Clivillés and Cole recorded in 1988 a sequel called "So Many Ways (Do It Properly Part II)" with the Brat Pack on Vendetta/A&M Records. House music is a genre of electronic dance music created by club DJs and music producers in Chicago in the early 1980s. Early house music was generally characterized by repetitive 4/4 beats, rhythms provided by drum machines, off-beat hi-hat cymbals, and synthesized basslines. Later in 1989, Clivillés and Cole started C+C Music Factory, [11] David Morales had a successful solo career in the 1990s, [12] Chep Nuñez died in 1990. [1] David Cole died in 1995. [13] [14]
C+C Music Factory was an American musical group formed in 1989 by David Cole and Robert Clivillés. The group is best known for their five hit singles: "Gonna Make You Sweat ", "Here We Go ", "Things That Make You Go Hmmmm...", "Just a Touch of Love", and "Keep It Comin'". The band stopped recording in 1996, following Cole's death. In 2010, C+C Music Factory reformed, with Eric Kupper replacing Cole. Original vocalist Freedom Williams acquired trademark rights to the name in 2003 and still tours under that moniker.
