35 Boys 5 Concepts is an EP by contestants of the South Korean survival show Produce 101 Season 2 . It was released online for download on June 3, 2017, by CJ E&M. [1]

Background

Produce 101 Season 2 was a South Korean survival show that aired on Mnet from April to June in 2017 where 101 male trainees from various entertainment companies competed to debut in an 11-member boy group which would promote until December 2018.

On the 8th and 9th episode, the 35 remaining trainees were split into five teams and given five new songs from different producers, with different genres. They were tasked to perform these songs live in front of total audience of 2000. [2] The nu-disco song "Show Time" was produced by Veethoven, Oh Sung Hwan, ASHTRAY and Kingmaker. The synth pop/funk song "I Know You Know" was produced by Jeff Lewis, nomad, MRey, and Hyuk Shin who has worked with many major artists in K-pop industry, including Exo, Shinee, f(x), Girls' Generation and Teen Top. The Future EDM song "열어줘 (Open Up)" was produced by Devine Channel who has composed BTS's Fire and VIXX's Shangri-La. The hip hop song "Oh Little Girl" was produced by ASSBRASS [lower-alpha 1] and Phantom's Kiggen from Brand New Music, and the deep house song "Never" was produced by Cube Entertainment's PENTAGON and Triple H. Commercial reception

On June 3, 2017, "Never" by Nation's Sons achieved an all-kill on Instiz, charting at #1 on real-time charts of Melon, Mnet, Bugs, Soribada, and Naver. [7]

Produce 101 Season 2 was a 2017 boy group survival reality show on Mnet, and is the second season of the original South Korean version of the franchise. The public "produces" a boy group by choosing 11 members among 101 trainees from 54 entertainment companies through online voting and live voting with multiple elimination rounds. The public also chose the group's concept, debut song and group name. In the season finale on June 16, 2017, which was broadcast live, the show announced the final 11 members who would debut as Wanna One. More than 16 million people cast their votes during the finale, equivalent to around 30% of South Korea's population.

Their contract ended on December 31, 2018, but their final activity as a group was their last concert on January 24–27, 2019.

1×1=1 is the debut extended play by South Korean boy group Wanna One, a project group created through the 2017 Mnet survival show, Produce 101 Season 2, composed of eleven trainees from different entertainment companies that will promote for 18 months under YMC Entertainment. The album was released digitally and physically on August 7, 2017, by YMC Entertainment, Stone Music Entertainment and CJ E&M Music. A Japanese version of the album was released on September 27, 2017, through Pony Canyon. The album was re-released under the title 1−1=0 on November 13, 2017.

"Never" is a song by contestants of Produce 101 Season 2. It was re-released by Wanna One, the winning group of Produce 101 Season 2 on their album 1X1=1 .

<i>Produce X 101</i> Boy group survival reality show

Produce X 101 is a 2019 South Korean boy group survival reality show on Mnet and the fourth season of the Produce 101 franchise. The public, referred to as "national producers", "produces" a boy band by choosing 11 members among the 101 trainees from 47 different entertainment companies and independent trainees through online voting and live voting with multiple elimination rounds. The public will also choose the group's concept, debut song, and group name. The show aired from May 3 to July 19, 2019. Contestant Kim Yohan from Oui Entertainment obtained the most votes at the end, becoming the debut group center. The group from this show was named X1, but after extensive voting manipulation was proven, the group was disbanded on January 6, 2020.
