Background

Produce 101 is a South Korean survival show that aired on Mnet from January to April in 2016 where 101 female trainees from various entertainment companies competed to debut in an 11-member girl group which would promote for a year under YMC Entertainment.

On the 8th episode, the remaining trainees were given 5 new songs from 5 different producers, each a different genre. They were tasked to perform these songs live in front of an audience of 3000. [2] The EDM song "24 Hours" was produced by DJ KOO and Maximite (Also the producers of "Pick Me"). The girl crush pop song "Fingertips" was produced by Ryan Jhun, the hip hop song "Don't Matter" was produced by San E, the trap pop song "Yum-Yum" was produced by iDR, and the girlish pop song "In the Same Place" was produced by B1A4's Jin-young, who also produced one of the songs in the finale "When the Cherry Blossoms Fade" which was eventually included in the show's product girl group, I.O.I's debut album Chrysalis . [3]

Commercial reception

All five songs on the album charted in the top 50 of the Gaon Digital Chart. "같은 곳에서 (In the Same Place)" peaked at #8, "Yum-Yum (얌얌)" at #14, "Fingertips" at #21, "Don't Matter" at #30 and "24 Hours" at #41. [4]

Mr.Mr. is the fourth extended play (EP) by South Korean girl group Girls' Generation. The EP consists of six tracks and it incorporates electropop and R&B-pop music genres. It was released for digital download by SM Entertainment and KT Music on February 24, 2014. The CD and digital version were released in Hong Kong on the same day, and was made available for purchase on February 27 in South Korea. To promote the album, Girls' Generation appeared on several South Korean music programs including Music Bank and Inkigayo. The title track was released as a single. This is the final Korean EP featuring member Jessica who later left the group on September 30, 2014.

<i>Ice Cream Cake</i> (EP) 2015 EP by Red Velvet

Ice Cream Cake is the debut Korean extended play by the South Korean girl group Red Velvet. It was released digitally on March 17, 2015, and physically on March 18 by SM Entertainment and distributed by Dreamus, marking the group's first proper release since their initial debut in August 2014 and their first release as a quintet since the addition of the group's fifth member Yeri. The extended play was released in two physical versions, named after the two singles and contained six tracks which introduced both the group's "Red" and "Velvet" sonic concept. The duality was further demonstrated by its two singles, "Automatic" and "Ice Cream Cake", with the latter becoming the group's breakthrough commercial success. <i>Produce 48</i> South Korean reality competition series

Produce 48 is the third season of the South Korean reality competition series Produce 101. It was a large-scale project in which the public "produces" a girl group by voting for members out of a pool of 96 contestants from South Korea and Japan, as well as voting for the group's concept, name and debut single. The show was a collaboration between the Mnet series Produce 101 and the J-pop idol group AKB48. The winning 12 contestants, with no nationality caps, as voted only by Korean viewers, would promote as a group for two years and six months. The program itself is primarily in Korean, however staff and trainer instructions were translated onsite by interpreters. The show announced the final 12 members who made it into, as well as the official name of the group Iz*One during the finale on August 31, 2018.

"Never" is a song by contestants of Produce 101 Season 2. It was re-released by Wanna One, the winning group of Produce 101 Season 2 on their album 1X1=1 .
